Soraka is getting some massive buffs to her ultimate on League of Legends patch 11.18.
After the 2021 preseason changes, both the healing champions and anti-heal items are in a hit or miss state. Although champions like Vladamir, Aatrox, Swain, and some others rely on heals, they do have some sort of damage outputs. But two champions in particular — Soraka and Dr. Mundo heavily rely on heals and their entire kit is built around it and when Grievous Wounds is applied to them in team fights they pretty much become useless.
Soraka’s current state might not be as good as Sona or Nami’s, but she also has a decent presence in the soloq after receiving two buffs in Season 11. Currently, on patch 11.17, she now has an average 51.54% win rate in Plat+ Elo while having a 4.31% pick rate.
However, that win rate tumbles as the game progress. While she has a 53% win rate at the early game when no one has Grievous Wounds, at the late game after 30 min+ she has a 50% win rate.
“I would not say we think Grievous Wounds is in an optimal state – we do want to revisit the system,” League of Legends’ Lead Game Designer Riot Jag on Grievous Wounds. “In the meantime, we’re going to change Dr. Mundo and Soraka to smooth them out a bit given the counter items available.”
Soraka Changes Patch 11.18
- Astral Infusion (W):
- Healing 100 / 135 / 170 / 205 / 240 >>> 100 /130 / 160 / 190 / 220
- Wish (R):
- Removes Grievous Wounds on allies before healing them.
According to Riot Jag, the main goal of this buff is to increase performance when Grievous Wounds is applied to Soraka and slightly reduce it otherwise.
Soraka changes are scheduled to release on Patch 11.18, Sep 9, 2021.
