Modern Warfare 3 devs Sledgehammer Games has revealed that the game will get six new post-launch maps with Season 1 and 2 content drops.
Call of Duty 2023 was revealed a few months ago. With Sledgehammer Games at the helm, the next CoD release is Modern Warfare 3. The game will be a direct sequel to Modern Warfare 2 (2022).
Modern Warfare 3 will also feature a completely revamped multiplayer game mode. It will also be a direct continuation of MW2. The multiplayer mode will also feature new original maps developed by Sledgehammer Games.

New Post-Launch Maps for Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 & 2
In a recent intel drop regarding Modern Warfare 3, Sledgehammer Games shared their keynote on the upcoming multiplayer experience. They discussed their vision regarding the game’s map and future seasons.
Aside from the sixteen classic maps remastered from MW2 (2009), the game’s multiplayer will also feature brand-new original 6v6 core maps. The six maps will be available as the game’s post-launch content.
The six maps will be divided into two content drops. The first three maps will be a part of the Season 1 update. The remaining three maps will be part of the Season 2 content drop. Along with the sixteen remastered maps, players will have access to 22 maps in MW3.
Modern Warfare 3‘s intel drops hints toward Sledgehammer Games’ vision for the following year. With the preplanned content, such as maps and game modes, they are already undoing the damage done by Modern Warfare 2’s lack of content.
