Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale game with a massive casual player base alongside a thriving competitive community.
As such, the game has two different game modes, one for a casual quick run, and the other one is the ranked variant where players can compete against similarly skilled opponents in a structured manner.
While players can leave the normal game mode without receiving any penalties, the ranked mode has strict rules against AFKers and leavers. However, it is never fun for players to lose teammates amidst a battle even in the casual game mode.
Leaver penalty in casual matches
Recently, a pro Apex Legends streamer made a snide comment regarding casual players raging over their teammates leaving the game. The Apex community erupted into a hot debate regarding punishing players for leaving during casual matches.
Following many requests from players, Respawn recently added a “no-fill” option for players who wants to drop solo in a game. However, even after the no-fill option being added to the game, players can be often seen leaving their teammates behind.
Respawn has yet to address this issue, as of writing. We’ll update this article as soon as Respawn makes a response regarding the issue.
