Similar to other popular live-service video games, Respawn Entertainment opted to use the “freemium” strategy to monetize Apex Legends. This battle royale game is free-to-play, so there is no barrier to entry, but players can choose to purchase battle passes that reward them with skins, emotes, music packs, and more to customize their play sessions.
Previously, battle pass skins were a limited-time commodity. In short, players had no other options to get their hands on past seasonal battle pass skins after the season runtime ended. However, recent changes made to EA’s official website suggest this may change in the future.

Battle pass skins may return in the future

In the official blog, EA now states that starting from season 11 and onwards, battle pass-related skins might return to the digital shop in the form of a limited-time event. The Apex Legends community has been asking Respawn to bring back skins from past seasonal battle passes.
While the past battle pass skins may not be available again, starting in season 11, players might get another chance to collect limited-time battle pass skins. The news came as a relief to many players since Apex Legends’ battle pass features some of the most sought-after reactive skin.

As these reactive battle pass skins were tied to seasons, players couldn’t get their hands on those skins as soon as the season ended. It seems like this may change starting next season.
