Riot Shares Massive Pantheon Buffs for LoL Patch 12.7

Pantheon, League of Legends’ one of the most underwhelming Top lane champions of the current meta, is set to receive some major buffs on patch 12.7.

After his major rework back in patch 9.16, Pantheon quickly became League’s one of the most popular champions. His ability to point-click CC on his W, damage blocking on his E, and, most importantly, roaming around the map with his R made him super effective not only in soloq but also in pro games.

His kit was so “broken” in Season 10 that he was played in Top, Mid, Jungle, and Support roles. However, Riot nerfed him to the ground in season 10, taking away his flex potential. And later in season 11, they nerfed his Jungle, where he was having success after all those nerfs.

After that patch 11.3 nerf, Riot didn’t even touch Pantheon, leaving him in the dust. As a result, on patch 12.6, Pantheon currently has less than a 1% pick rate in the Top lane and a 1.2% pick rate in the Support role, where he only has a 46% win rate.

Riot has been giving “underwhelming” champions mini-reworks or major updates in recent times. And it seems, for the upcoming patch 12.7, Riot is pushing some Pantheon changes to make him viable in League of Legends.

Pantheon Changes Patch 12.7

  • Base Stats
    • HP/5: 9 >> 7.5
  • Comet Spear (Q)
    • Tap Q Length: 550 >>> 600
    • Tap Q Width: 150 >>> 120
  • Aegis Assault (E)
    • No longer slows Pantheon when moving backwards
  • Grand Starfall (R)
    • Now falls 0.25 seconds faster

It’s kind of a bummer for some Pantheon players that Riot is not giving him any adjustments for his Jungle. And nerfing his health regen also means Riot doesn’t want him to be a Support after these changes. However, the Q buff and new changes to his E should make him useful once again in the solo lanes.

Release Date

Pantheon changes are currently on the PBE for testing and will go live on League of Legends patch 12.7, April 13, 2022.
