VALORANT cheaters banned

A few days after its close beta release, there are already cheaters in VALORANT.

Streamer and content creator phantasy has shared a clip on his Twitter account where a guy is using wallhack and aimbot to kill everyone.

The sad part is that the game isn’t even out yet. VALORANT just went live as a closed beta on April 7th. Riot Games only gave access to the beta version of their new FPS to some top streamers and their partners. Most of the general public got their hands on the beta key through Twitch drops.

It didn’t take long, but they have already decided to use their ban hammer. Paul Chamberlain, the Programmer & anti-cheat lead on Riot Games, tweeted out that this is unfortunate, but they had to ban their first cheater. They are planning on more bans in the future.

He also talked about how disappointing it was. Cheating in an online free-to-play FPS isn’t new, but he thought it would take a little bit more time for those cheaters to ruin the party. Although a strong anti-cheat policy from day one was one of the main key selling points of VALORANT. And it is really exciting to see Riot Games using their ban hammer even on the live beta.

At the end of the day, it is just the beginning of VALORANT’s fight against cheaters. Now is the time for Riot Games to deliver on their promise to be really vigilant against cheaters.
