Not officially, but it is confirmed! Respawn is working on a Single Player FPS game under the same Apex Legends and Titanfall universe.
Apex Legends was published in 2019 as a battle royale spinoff of Respawn’s successful Titanfall franchise, and it quickly established itself as the greatest battle royale game in the BR genre. The first Titanfall was released back in 2014.
After Titanfall’s massive success, Respawn released Titanfall 2 in 2016. Just like Titanfall, the sequel was also a major hit, and players all around the world became die-hard fans of the Titanfall franchise.
One year later, EA acquired Respawn Entertainment. After the acquisition, EA and Respawn developed the arguably best Battle Royale game, Apex Legends. With no prior announcement or marketing, they published Apex Legends as a free-to-play game in the market.
Titanfall, BR, FPS, and Hero Shooter fans all together hopped onto the game to try something new. Immediately players became hooked up with the game because of its unconventional gameplay mechanisms and outstanding features.
Currently, the game has more than 130 million player bases worldwide, and the number keeps rising. With every new Season launched, Respawn keeps breaking the prior record for most active concurrent players in Apex Legends. And it seems like, Respawn and EA are not just done with Apex Legends yet.

Apex Legends’ Single Player Spinoff
Some insights into Respawn’s operation related to a new FPS game emerged a few days back. Respawn had a job listing for Senior engine/ system designer on its website titled “Apex Universe FPS Incubation.” However, this little information did not provide us with solid proof that it was actually a part of a new Apex Legends FPS game.
But a recent departing post from a Senior Environment Artist of Respawn Eugene Kim, proved that a Single Player FPS game in the same Apex Legends universe is actually in development, and Respawn is actively working on it.
Eugene Kim was directly involved with the creation and development of Apex Legends since Season 0. He recently left after working on Respawn for 3.5 years. “Joined 3.5 years ago during season 0 of Apex Legends and had a chance to make some contributions to the new single-player Apex universe game before departing.” he mentioned in the farewell post.
This post responds to many unanswered questions regarding previous confusions about a “new single-player Apex universe game”. However, now it is clear we will get a continuation of Apex Legends in a single-player sequel in the future. Nonetheless, it will be exciting to see what surprises Respawn brings us with it.
