The new operator getting introduced with Rainbow Six Siege’s Y6S2 North Star has been leaked.

Ubisoft has remained quiet about the upcoming season of Rainbow Six Siege. As of now, we only have the official name of the season – ‘North Star‘ – which was revealed in a recent teaser image. The image only showed us an orange helicopter hovering down into the woods, presumably with the new Operator hanging from it. From the Year 6 roadmap, we also know that the latest operator will be from the Nakoda Nations: an indigenous people based in Western Canada

But new information has now been leaked, revealing the new operator name and some details about her gadgets and loadout.

New Operator: Thunderbird

According to R6leaks, the new operator is going to be called ‘Thunderbird‘. And further in-game screenshots of this operator’s gadget suggest that Thunderbird will be a new kind of healer operator.

We can infer from her leaked loadout that Thunderbird will be a defender, as her secondary gadget options are Impacts and C4. Additionally, this new defender will have a deployable gadget named “Kóna Station” that will somehow heal nearby players. You can find a blurry clip of the gadget in action here.

Thunderbird will also be a 3-speed defender, with her primary weapons being the Spear.308 and SPAS-15. As her secondary weapon, she will have the option for the Q-929 or BEARING-9.

Quality of life updates

Alongside this new operator, Ubisoft will also be introducing some much-awaited QOL updates. According to Benjaminstrike, the rework for Smoke’s gas propagation system will finally be released with the new season. This will now stop players from abusing the smoke glitch on certain bombsites that could easily deny the default plant spots.

Some early access players have also reported that bullet holes will no longer exist, which was a top issue for Rainbow Six Siege’s dev team. However, take all this information with a grain of salt, as all of the changes are subject to change.

The Six Invitational 2021 is currently taking place in Paris, and the new season reveal will most likely be held in the Grand Finals, taking place on May 23rd. So stay tuned for the latest updates.
