Ubisoft has just confirmed that Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 6 Season 2 will be called “North Star”.

The first teaser for the upcoming season of Rainbow Six Siege has been released, revealing the new season’s official name and even a glimpse of the new operator.

The teaser image shows an orange helicopter hovering down into the woods with the new Operator hanging from it. Although we don’t have much information, we can guess from this image that the new operator could be a wildland firefighter.

But what we can confirm is that the latest operator will be from the Nakoda Nations: an indigenous people based in Western Canada and, originally, the United States. As the last operator ‘Flores’ was an attacker, we can also presume that Ubisoft will be introducing a new defender this time.

According to the Year 6 roadmap, Y6S2 “North Star” will be reworking the casual ‘Favela’ map, and as usual, there will also be some changes to the core gameplay features. In their Year 6 reveal panel, Ubisoft showed a glimpse of future operator reworks, including Goyo, Melusi, Mira, Maestro, and Finka. So, these changes might finally arrive with this new season.

The Six Invitational 2021 is currently taking place in Paris, and we’ll most likely see the season reveal this weekend in the Grand Finals, taking place on May 23rd. So stay tuned for the latest updates.
