Ubisoft has released a new patch on the Rainbow Six Siege Test Server, aiming to reduce the explosion radius for Flores’ RCE-Ratero drone.
Operation Crimson Heist has been on the Test Server for a while now, helping Ubisoft iron out all the new bugs and issues for the new season launch. The devs have also been taking in feedback for the new operator Flores and his unique RCE-Ratero drone.
With the new patch, the RCE-Ratero Charge will have a reduced explosive radius, resulting in a smaller area of damage. However, the number of these detonating drones still remains the same: four.
OPERATOR BALANCING
FLORES
- Changed the RCE-Ratero Charge explosion radius damage by reducing it from 4 m to 3 m, and its lethal range from 2 m to 1.5 m.
- This change was designed to encourage players to develop a focused strategy when using the RCE-Ratero Charge, as a smaller explosion radius requires accuracy.
- This change reduces the radius by only 25%. However, the surface covered by the RCE-Ratero Charge explosion is reduced by 50%, and the total volume of the explosion is reduced by more than 50%.
This nerf will make utility clearing a bit difficult for Flores, especially with defender gadgets like Kaid’s Electroclaw or Bandit’s Batteries. The smaller explosion also leads to less damage to Defender’s health.
So before this recent nerf, the explosive drone used to do 55 damage to a 2-armor defender at 4 meters distance. And now it only does 14 damage. This explosive nerf will surely make it more difficult for Flores to take down a defender using his drones.
Rainbow Six Siege’s latest season Crimson Heist is rumored to released on March 16th.
