With Stage 2 of Rainbow Six Esports’ regional leagues successfully coming to an end, we now have all the 16 teams that have qualified for the Six Mexico Major.
The Rainbow Six August Major 2021 is just around the horizon, and it will be the first International LAN event for Siege since Six Invitational 2021.
Ubisoft has already confirmed the official location of the August Major: Mexico City. Here, the top 4 teams from each of the 4 main regions will be competing for a title, a share of the $500,000 USD prize pool, and points in the Global Standings.

COMPETITIVE FORMAT
The Six Mexico Major will feature the top Stage 2 teams in each of the 4 Rainbow Six Esports regions which is sure to provide plenty of exciting matches.
The 16 qualified teams will be placed into 4 groups of 4. The top 2 teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs. For more details, see below:
GROUP STAGE (August 16-18)
The 4 groups were selected based on the following criteria:
The four teams from each region were seeded based on how they finished: 1, 2, 3, 4. From there, each group was created to have one representative from each region and only one seed per group.
The format is best-of-one, double round robin. A win is worth 3 points. An overtime win is worth 2 points. An overtime loss is worth 1 point. A loss is worth 0 points. Each team plays each other team twice for a total of 6 matches throughout the Group Stage. The 2 teams from each group with the most points, 8 teams in total, will advance to the quarterfinals.
PLAYOFFS (August 20-21)
All Quarterfinals and Semifinals matches will be best-of-three, single elimination with the winner advancing and the loser eliminated from the competition.
FINALS (August 22)
The Grand Final will consist of a best-of-five match with the winner crowned Six Mexico Major Champions.
PRIZEPOOL
The total prize pool for the competition is $500,000 USD. Here’s how the prize money will be broken down:
- 1st Place: $200,000
- 2nd Place: $80,000
- 3rd – 4th Place: $40,000
- 5th – 8th Place: $20,000
- 9th – 12th Place: $10,000
- 13th – 16th Place: $5,000
GLOBAL STANDINGS
With each regional league and the Six Majors tying into a global race towards the Six Invitational, the 16 teams competing at the Six Major Mexico will be awarded the following points in the Global Standings, based on their final placement:
- 1st Place: 375
- 2nd Place: 300
- 3rd – 4th Place: 230
- 5th – 8th Place: 165
- 9th – 12th Place: 105
- 13th – 16th Place: 50

Hot to get the Twitch drops?
Register your account by heading over to https://drops-register.ubi.com and link your Twitch account to your Ubisoft account. You will then be prompted to opt into the drops feature. Please, make sure that your account is linked before you tune in to the broadcast.
All drops will need to be claimed manually. You can track all the Drops progression on the Inventory page https://www.twitch.tv/drops/inventory. When the Drops condition is reached, you will need to click on the “Claim” button on the Inventory page to claim the reward. Please note that the “Claim” button will be available only 24 hours after the end of the campaign (the final playday of the respective week). The delivery of claimed items will usually be done 48 hours after the end of the week.
Like the SI’21 May Edition, Ubisoft will follow strict safety guidelines for COVID-19, including the rule that removes a full team from the competition if 2 or more players test positive before travelling to Mexico.
