Today, Ubisoft has announced that the next Six Major August will be held in Mexico without an in-site audience.
After a rather “successful” Six Invitational 2021 event, Ubisoft is ready to host the next International LAN event for Rainbow Six Siege: the Six August Major 2021.
The upcoming Six Major will take place in Mexico between August 16th and August 22nd.
“Following health organizations and local authorities’ guidelines, the Six Major will be a LAN event with no on-site audience and follow strict sanitary measures. Our teams are hard at work finalizing event details, and we look forward to sharing more information about the city and venue soon.” – Ubisoft.
The guidelines should be similar to the May SI, with teams getting disqualified if 2 or more person in the roster tests positive for COVID-19.
Mexico has reported 4,233 cases of COVID on June 22, and if the situation worsens, Ubisoft might be forced to postpone the event or even change the location.
The Six Major August will see the 16 best teams from all regions, competing at the top stage of Rainbow Six esports. The teams will be fighting for a $500,000 USD prize pool, and more importantly, SI points will also be distributed through this tournament. So, make sure to tune in to watch your favorite team lift the trophy.
