With the conclusion of Six Invitational 2022, where we saw TSM taking the crown, Rainbow Six Esports has been enjoying its off-season for a few weeks. But Ubisoft has announced the start of the 2022 season, with the return of the four regional leagues.

Similar to the previous year, the regional leagues will be divided into 3 stages, and Six Major will be held at the end of each stage. Teams will earn SI points based on their position on the league table, and for their performance in the Six Majors.

Ubisoft has also revealed the revamped map pool for the 2022 season, which will now feature 9 maps (instead of 7). As usual, fans will be able to get free Twitch Drops by watching the official stream of the regional leagues.

Here’s everything you need to know about the 2022 season of Rainbow Six Esports.

Regional Leagues

ASIA-PACIFIC LEAGUE

For the 2022 season, each Asia-Pacific League Division – North and South – will run for 6 weeks, with the first two weeks having 2 playdays, and the remaining 5 weeks having one playday per week, to the exception of Stage 1, that has been slightly altered to cater to the delay of the regional leagues’ kick-off. (see Stage 1 calendars below)

  • For the North Division, playdays will take place on Wednesdays. The first two weeks will have two playdays, on Wednesday and Friday.
  • For the South Division, playdays will take place on Thursdays. The first two weeks will have two playdays, on Thursday and Saturday.

Each stage will conclude with the Asia-Pacific League Playoffs, which will run for 3 weeks and decide the 4 teams from the region to qualify for the Six Major at the end of the stage.

Stage 1 of the Asia-Pacific League will kick off on March 16 for the North Division and March 17 for South Division.
