Stage 2 of Rainbow Six APAC Playoffs is just around the corner, and here’s everything you need to know about it.
With the APAC North & South league and SA Nationals now being concluded, we have all the confirmed teams that will compete in this upcoming tournament.
Qualified Teams
This week, we saw the final playday of the APAC North league, where CYCLOPS athlete gaming managed to grab the 1st spot on the table and thus secured a direct ticket to the Mexico Major. Meanwhile, the 2-4th placed team of Damwon Gaming, Fnatic, and Fav Gaming have booked their spot in the APAC Playoffs Stage 2.
From the South Division, The Knights were able to top the table, thanks to their last playday win and Elevate losing theirs against Invictus. Knights will now compete in an International Major for the first time ever, while the 2-4th placed team of Elevate, QConfirm, and Invictus Gaming will advance to the Playoffs.
These six teams will join the two South Asian teams of KIRA E-Sports and MercenarieZ in a battle to qualify for the Mexico Six August Major and gain some important SI points.
Schedule and Bracket
The APAC Playoffs is scheduled to kick off on July 26th, ending two days later on July 28th. The UB1 brackets have now been confirmed, which you can find above.
Format
The much-criticized double-elimination format from Stage 1 will return for Playoffs Stage 2, with the upper bracket round 1 & 2 still being played in a BO1 format.
Prize Pool and SI points
The eight teams will be competing for a total prize pool of $12,000 and 1,110 SI Points. Find the full distribution below:
All the teams will be looking to get that 1st or 2nd-place finish and qualify straight for the upcoming Six Major. The 3rd-6th placed teams won’t be qualifying for the Major, but they will be adding some SI points to their tally. Unfortunately, the 7th-8th placed teams won’t be receiving any prize money or SI points from this tournament.
The tournament will be officially streamed by Ubisoft on the Rainbow6 Twitch channel, so make sure to tune in live to catch all the exciting APAC action.
