Quickplay is finally coming out in League of Legends. So here’s everything you have to know about this mode.

There are many game modes in League of Legends, like 5v5 normal Summoner’s Rift, ranked Summoner’s Rift, ARAM, Arena, Nexus Blitz, etc. But players only have two permanent ways to play normal Summoner’s Rift. That is by playing draft pick or blind pick.

In the draft queue, players are able to pick their preferred positions. Once they get into a match, there will be a pick intent phase, where players show their team which champions they want to play. Then, the banning phase starts. In this phase, players are able to ban one champion, and both teams will be unable to pick that champion.

Afterward, one player for one team gets to select their champion as the first pick. Then, the team alternates and picks two at a time until every player has locked their champions. Both teams can see which champions their opponents have picked.

Blind pick, on the other hand, is very different. In this mode, players can pick which champions to play simultaneously. There is no ban phase, so every champion is available. Players usually type in the team chat about which role they are picking. And both teams cannot see each other’s team. Once both teams lock their preferred champions, the match starts after 10 seconds.

However, blind pick is an extremely unpopular game mode. Due to it earlier this year, Riot announced that they would be replacing it with quick play. And now, since quickplay is just around the corner, here’s every detail about this mode.

League of Legends: Quickplay

Quickplay will be the mode that will replace blind pick in the upcoming patch. Quickplay won’t have any separate champion select phase. Instead, players can pick their preferred role, champions, runes, and spells before queueing. And once everyone accepts the game, everyone will hop right into the Rift without any delay.

If you are playing solo, then you can pick two unique roles and two champions, and one of the roles and champion could be picked as a priority position.

And if you are playing duo, trio, or quad, then the solo rules are still similar but slightly different. Firstly, instead of two different champions, players can pick only one. Moreover, everyone’s priority position must be different.

Finally, if you are five-stacking, then every player in the lobby must only pick one unique role and champion. So, a secondary role is not required.

Release Date

Quickplay is coming out in League of Legends after 13.21, scheduled for Wednesday, October 25, 2023. However, all regions won’t have access to it simultaneously. It will be rolled out in all servers eventually, but no confirmed dates exist.
