Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduce three new starter Pokemon to the players. Among them, Quaxly is the water-type starter Pokemon. Here is the best team you can use with him.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduce three new starter Pokemon you can choose from. They are from the 9th generation lineup of Pokemon. Once you have chosen one of the starters, you cannot get the other two by exploring or playing through the game. But the other two can be obtained by trading with other players.

Since you cannot get the other two, choosing the starter you like is essential for a good game experience. All three starters are good to play with and hold up well in the battle. That being said, this is an article about Quaxly, the water-type starter pokemon. Thus we will discuss the best team comp you can have with Quaxly in your party.

Best Team To Pair With Quaxly

Quaxly is the Water-type starter Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It is a physical attacker. So it is pretty good in a lot of situations. Being a water type, Quaxly is weak to Grass and Electric. But it resists Fire, Water, Ice, and Steel.

You can play through the whole game using Quaxly in your party. It has a promising attack with an average amount of defense. At level 16, Quaxly will evolve into Quaxwell, and at level 36, into Quaquaval. There are some excellent Pokemon when it comes to team building with him. Here are our five favorite Pokemon you can use with Quaxly.

Fletchling

Fletchling is a normal/flying type Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Being a flying type, It is immune to ground-type Pokemon, which gives him an edge in any ground-type battle. But It shares the same weakness as the electric type as the starter. Fletchling can be a bit slow to level up, but It evolves at level 17 to Fletchinder and at level 35 to Talonflame.

The good thing about Fletchling is even though It is not a fire type, It can learn fire-type moves. This eliminates the need to use a fire-type Pokemon in the team. Plus, It is pretty fun to battle with. So Fletchling is a good one to pair with your Quaxly.

Paldean Wooper

Paldean Wooper is a newer version of Wooper in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. While you cannot find the normal Wooper in the wild this time in the game, you can trade your Paldean Wooper for a normal one if you want to. Either Wooper is good to pair with Quaxly.

That is because it evolves at level 20 and becomes a tank for the team. It can learn some good support moves, like Yawn, to support the whole team. In general, It will be acting as the support Pokemon for your team.

Wattrel

No Pokemon party is complete without an electric type. Wattrel acts as the electric type Pokemon for the party. It is a flying/electric type. Being a flying type, It is also immune to ground type. Other than that, It is weak to ice and rock.

Wattrel evolves to Kilowattrel at level 25. That is his only evolution. But It is one of the better Pokemon that has come with this new generation. It can function as your speedy special attack for the team to deal a good amount of damage. This should be your pick in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet if you are searching for an ideal electric type.

Gible

Gible is a strong attacker in many Pokemon games. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, that is no different. You can use this slot as a flexible unit. But Gible is a good choice for the team. It is pretty weak to fairy type, which is covered by the starter. And his evolutions only make him stronger.

At level 24, It evolves into Gabite, and at level 48, into Garchomp. After becoming Garchomp, it becomes so powerful that many consider it a pseudo-legendary Pokemon. So it is never a bad idea to have him at the party.

Charcadet

Charcadet is a very flexible Pokemon to have in the party. It is one of the better Pokemon in this new generation. It is a good Pokemon at every level of the game. And his evolutions are also really good. But he is not an easy Pokemon to track down. But if you can get this Pokemon, he is worth the hunt.

Charcadet doesn’t evolve through leveling. You need to track down 10 Bronzor fragments/Sinistea chips and give them to Zapapico to get Auspicious/Malicious Armor. Then giving the Armor to Charcadet will make him evolve.

Malicious Armor will make him evolve into Ceruledge, which is Violet exclusive and a Fire/Ghost type. In contrast, Auspicios Armor will make him evolve into Armarouge, which is a scarlet exclusive and Fire/Psychic type. No matter which one you have, they are both excellent and share almost the same moves.
