It looks like the old Prestige skin owners will get their Legend-specific skydive trails in the upcoming season.
Apex Legends introduced Prestige skin in Season 12. The Prestige skin is a mythic tier cosmetic item that surpasses Legendary skins’ features. However, similar to Heirlooms, players have to pay around $160 or use Heirloom Shards to unlock a Prestige skin.
Respawn has released 5 Prestige skins in the game so far. Right now, Bloodhound, Bangalore, Wraith, Caustic, and Valkyrie are the only Legends to have the Prestige skins in the game.
Valkyrie is the latest Legend who received her Prestige skin in the Neon Network Collection Event in Season 17. In addition to the usual features, Respawn also added a unique Skydive trail for the Valkyrie, which arguably looks more impressive than the ranked reward trails.
Moreover, once unlocked, the golden trail can be used with any Legend. As a result, the old Prestige skin owners are not too pleased that the special treatment is only offered to Valkyrie mains. Understandably, they wanted Respawn to do something about it, and Respawn might’ve been listening.

Old Prestige Skins to Have Unique Skydive Trails
Just after the Neon Network Collection Event went live, a prominent leaker named Osvaldatore revealed some interesting information regarding the Prestige Skydive trails. According to the leaker, the old Prestige skins will receive Skydive trails starting in Season 18. Osvaldatore also mentioned that the Skydive trails will be sold via the store.
From the leaker’s post, it seems to be rather unclear whether or not owners of the old Prestige skins must pay to unlock the Skydive trails. Nonetheless, it is confirmed that the old Prestige skins will have unique Skydive trails just like the one from Valkyrie.
Osvaldatore has a reputation in the Apex Legends community for being a fairly trustworthy leaker. The leaks from him had previously been accurate. So, if Respawn doesn’t scrap the Skydive trail ideas, which they often do, we should see them coming in Season 18.
