The new Ring update, which is supposed to be revealed in Season 18, has already been leaked by a prominent data miner.

Ring, also known as the gas or zone, is an important feature for any Battle Royale game. It is also true for Apex Legends. Battle Royale games usually feature bigger maps with a huge player size. As the match begins, the number of players keeps decreasing.

As a result, it is also important for the map to shrink accordingly so that the players can find each other, which will otherwise be really hard. The Ring in Apex Legends also works similarly and acts as a catalyst to force players into a restricted playable area.

Respawn sometimes tends to tweak the Ring values depending on the ongoing meta, maps, and other variables. Similarly, because of the current ranked system, Respawn has decided to make some critical changes to the Ring in the upcoming season.

New Ring Changes for Season 18 Leaked

In the recent Ranked Dev Blog, Respawn said they’d adjust the Ring to minimize ratting issues and encourage more fights in mid-game. Respawn said that they’d adjust Ring damage and timings in the post. However, no concrete values or exact changes weren’t shared.

But thanks to KralRindo, we’ve got some information regarding the upcoming season’s Ring changes, including Ring preshrink duration, damage, Ring size, and shrink speed. According to KranRindo, Respawn mistakenly released a new playlist for private matches that wasn’t supposed to be available to regular players. This playlist contained World’s Edge and Storm Point with the new Ring values.

Here’s all the upcoming Ring values KralRindo gathered:

Season 18 Ring preshrink duration:

  • Round 1: 90 > 75 Seconds
  • Round 2: 165 > 120 Seconds
  • Round 3: 135 > 90 Seconds
  • Round 4: 105 > 90 Seconds
  • Round 5: 90 > 75 Seconds

Season 18 Ring damage per tick:

  • Round 2: 0.03 > 0.04 Damage
  • Round 4: 0.20 > 0.15 Damage

Round 1, 3, and 5 Ring damages remain the same.

Season 18 Ring size

  • Round 1: 20000 > 30500 Meters (SP), 26500 Meters (WE)
  • Round 2: 13000 > 15000 Meters (SP), 13000 Meters (WE)

Round 3, 4, and 5 Ring sizes remain the same.

Ring Shrink Speed

  • Round 1: 165 > 170 (SP), 160 (WE)
  • Round 2: 160 > 140
  • Round 3: 120 > 120
  • Round 4: 100 > 85
  • Round 5: 50 > 40

Respawn released a new playlist for private matches, they were supposed to be test only and regular players are not meant to be able to see it

Interesting part about this playlist is that they have new ring values, looks like Respawn changing or at least testing how ring works pic.twitter.com/7WPasn75JN

For now, KralRindo has only shared the Ring update date on Storm Point and World’s Edge. Respawn will likely change the values on other maps before Season 18 goes live. However, as KralRindo mentioned in his post, the data was collected from test servers. So, the final Ring values may differ in the Season 18 update. So, take it with a grain of salt.
