Nintendo Switch Sports currently offers Volleyball, Soccer, Tennis, Bowling, Badminton, and Chambara. Apart from offering a well-diversified selection of sports, Nintendo Switch Sports also offers extensive character customization opportunities to players. Starting from hairstyle and color, makeup, outfits, and accessories, everything can be customized according to the players’ preference.

In this guide, we have explained how you can unlock cosmetics and customize your characters in Nintendo Switch Sports, along with how you can farm customization points in the game.

How to Unlock Cosmetics in Nintendo Switch Sports

Most of the lucrative customization items are locked behind its online mode. In order to unlock the cosmetics in Nintendo Switch Sports, players must play matches in the “Play Globally” mode. Nintendo releases new cosmetic items such as costumes, accessories, new hairstyles, and more every Friday, and players can unlock these items with in-game reward points.

The cosmetics available in Nintendo Switch Sports come in sets. Players receive a cosmetic reward for every 100 points earned. However, Nintendo gives players the freedom to choose which set they want the reward item to be from.

As of right now, there are two limited-edition cosmetic sets available in the game: Simple Collection and Cute Collection. The Simple Collection is up for grabs until May 10th, whereas the Cute Collection will be available until May 18th. Completionists must unlock all items from the collection within this time before they are locked out of it forever.

How to Customize Characters in Nintendo Switch Sports

Players will be automatically taken to the avatar customization menu at the beginning of the game. However, the items in your wardrobe will be limited at that point. Once you win more online matches and unlock more cosmetic items, you can access the customization menu from the bottom right corner of the Spocco Square screen. The customization menu will be displayed with a clothes hanger icon.

How to Farm Customization Points in Nintendo Switch Sports

Garnering 100 points for a single item might seem like a tedious process, especially if you’re aiming to complete the entire collection before the stated deadline. However, you don’t need to worry as there are plenty of fast and efficient ways to grind these customization points.

For instance, you will get around 30 to 40 points just for playing matches. If you win, there will be a multiplier depending on the type of sport. But even if you lose, you’ll still get the base points for joining.

So, in theory, you can play a match and lose on purpose repeatedly to rack in points. This method of grinding works best with sports such as Chambara as you can leave your controllers unattended and let the opponent knock you out.

On the other hand, if you really hate losing, you can try winning Battle Royale matches for Bowling as it provides the highest rewards. For instance, players will be rewarded 100 points for every match won. And even if you lose, you still get 40 points.
