Map Editor
The map editor will be a community feature that will allow players to craft or modify maps. Other players can play on the map using a code or invite system. The map system is similar to Fortnite’s creative mode, allowing players to make maps for the community.
Additionally, the feature will allow players to set objectives, spawn points, and mode regulations. In addition, Treyarch will monitor the edited maps. Furthermore, creators or curators will gain verification from developers to ensure the map editor features remain intact.
The map editor is comparable to Valve’s workshop system, where the community can upload their own maps. In addition to that, all maps feature a rating system that allows players to rate community-made maps.
The map editor feature is in development since it was primarily proposed as a feature for MW(2019). The feature comes following Infinity Ward’s plans to include the community in the lifecycle of a CoD title. Moreover, this feature will debut in Treyarch’s free-to-play title, coming out in 2023.
It’s important to remember that these are just leaks, and the developers have yet to confirm the information. As a result, take these leaks with a grain of salt until an official announcement comes out.
