League of Legends’ one of the most popular Summoner spells, Teleport is set to receive a massive update in the upcoming Season.
Teleport has always been the premier Summoner Spell choice for Top Laners. Due to how isolated Top Lane is, it’s hard for Top Laners to impact the other parts of that game. Thus Top Laners take Teleport so they can make an impact on other lanes earlier and in most cases join teamfights.
However, due to how impactful the early game teleports to Bot Lanes were, Riot decided to rework Teleport. Riot made it so players could not Teleport to minions pre-14 minutes after which Teleport Transformed into Unleased Teleport, lowering its cooldown and restoring its ability to warp to minions.
Although the rework fixed some of the problems the Summoner Spell had, it didn’t address all the issues.
Teleport as a Summoner Spell still is too forgiving for Top Lane. A player could get solo killed in the early game and still catch the wave due to Teleport. If the opposing didn’t have teleport, the player that got solo killed could teleport and push the wave, making the player that actually played well, lose minions. This makes punishing bad players much harder and removes skill expression from Top Lane.
This is why Riot is reworking Teleport once again in the upcoming Season. They are making Teleport much slower and making it so it is much more punishable.

Season 2025 Teleport Rework
Here are all the changes coming to Teleport,
- New Effect: Now causes your champion to dash to the target.
- Teleport moves slower, Unleashed Teleport moves faster.
- New Effect: Teleport can now target ally minions or wards.
- New Effect: Now grants home guard upon arrival, effectiveness reduced before 14 minutes.
- Channel duration reduced from 4 seconds to 3
- Max travel time for base Teleport is 5 seconds, 4 for Unleashed Teleport
- Base cooldown reduced from 360 to 300
- Unleashed Teleport cooldown reduced from 330-240 to 300-240
Teleport will now have a travel time. Pre 14 minutes the travel time will be much slower and it will get faster after 14 minutes. So essentially, It will now function more akin to the warp gates in ARAM.
Additionally, you can now Teleport to ally minions once again and players can teleport to ally Wards as well. Also, Teleport will have a home guard effect upon arrival even before 14 mins.
Release Date
The Teleport Rework will arrive on League of Legends in Patch 25.S1.1. The exact release date for the patch has not been revealed yet however it will arrive in early January.
