Riot has revealed massive teleport changes coming to the mid-season patch 13.10.
The top lane has been one of the hardest lanes to balance for Riot Games in League of Legends. In preseason 12, they tried nerfing the role by completely reworking the teleport summoner’s spell.
They reworked teleport into two spells, teleport and unleashed teleport. The teleport spell now has a higher cooldown and does not teleport to minions and wards. But after 14 minutes, the teleport transforms into an unleashed teleport. The unleashed teleport is the prework teleport. Using it, the player can teleport to not only structures but also minions and wards.
This nerf was very controversial in the community. For most players, the teleport nerf was too harsh, making the top lane useless in the early game. But other players understood that the nerf was justified. Either way, after the change, the meta slowly shifted toward ADC.
While the durability changes in the mid-season 12 and tank items in the pre-season 2023 brought back the spotlight to the top lane, the role still wasn’t as strong as before.
Now, in the upcoming mid-season update, Riot Truexy has revealed some massive changes coming to the game. One of the included changes is a change to teleport.

Teleport Buffs Patch 13.10
- Upgrade Time: 14 minutes >>> 10 minutes.
Now instead of 14 minutes, the teleport transforms into an unleashed teleport after 10 minutes. It is a massive change, as most top champions should be able to start roaming right after the upgrade.
Moreover, the buff is also accompanied by a slight turret and minion wave timing changes as well. Now after taking a tower plating, the tower gains bonus resistance for the next 20 seconds. For the minions, after the first wave, the side minions will move faster than before.
With this teleport buff, we can expect to top laners to be more influential in the meta.
Release Date
The teleport changes are expected to hit live servers on patch 13.10, scheduled to release on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
