After long anticipation, Riot has finally revealed the 2024 Teemo ASU, or visual rework. And the release date is very close.

League of Legends was released around 15 years ago. Since then, Riot has released a ton of champions. Some of them were released back in 2009. Therefore, many of the older champions look very outdated.

Due to this, we have seen Riot do various reworks to bring these champions into the modern age. These reworks range from VGU or Visual and Gameplay Update to smaller mini-reworks. One of these rework types that was recently released was ASU.

ASU or Art and Sustainability Update is a type of rework where Riot fully overhauls a champion’s visuals without changing their kit. They started doing these kinds of reworks back in 2021. And since then they have done 3 ASU. These are Caitlyn, Ahri, and Lee Sin. Additionally, in 2024, Riot ramped up the production of ASU. From this year on, we will get 2 ASU per year.

We have already gotten our first ASU of the year, Lee Sin. Compared to the original version, the new Lee Sin is a breath of fresh air. Moreover, when Riot revealed that Lee Sin was getting an ASU, they also unveiled ASU for another champion. And that champion was Teemo.

Teemo was an initial launch character, and among the fans, he is also an unofficial mascot. But after 15 years, he looks extremely outdated. Therefore, Teemo is a champion who deserves an extreme visual update. Recently, Riot showcased Teemo’s rework, or ASU in 2024.

As stated before, Teemo has become an unofficial mascot among the players. However, the previous Teemo didn’t have enough facial animations and expressions. The new Teemo is brimming with expressions. The expressions are exaggerated, which is honestly very sweet.

By looking at the sneak peek below, you can see the difference.

Teemo ASU: All Abilities

Q – Blinding Dart

Whenever Teemo used his ability he was very static and didn’t have any proper animations besides throwing his mushrooms.

Now, whenever he casts his abilities, he has unique animations. For example, with his Q, he does a backflip. Now it is more understandable when he casts his Q.

R – Noxious Trap

Not only Q but his shroom also got some new animations. Now when his shrooms activate, it creates a small visual effect.

Depending on the skin, it also does different VFX and SFX.
