League of Legends patch 12.4 will nerf Zeri again, buff Neeko, put an end to enchanters playing solo lane, and more.

Despite having the least amount of new changes, Season 12 has already had its fair share of controversies. The early objective bounties were so “abusive” that Riot had to hotfix nerf it twice. And last month, they had to disable the Chemtech Drake due to community outrage.

While Riot was busy fixing those issues, another “overpowered” meta, enchanters playing solo lane, made a comeback and currently terrorizing the soloq. Through Riot already hotfix nerfed Janna, it seems that support items are getting some more major nerfs in the upcoming patch.

League of Legends’ Designer on the Summoner’s Rift team, Riot Phlox, has revealed the upcoming patch 12.4 changes. Along with the support item, Zeri, Dr. Mundo, Qiyana, Veigar, Blitzcrank, and Nunu & Willump will also be getting some notable nerfs.

“Zeri the carry is very unfairly we’re nerfing her kit to make ranked games less scary,” Riot August on patch 12.4 Zeri nerfs.

On top of that, patch 12.4 will feature buffs to multiple “underwhelming” soloq champions like Neeko, Kalista, Amumu, Illaoi, and some others.

New Champion Renata Glasc

Passive – Leverage

Renata Glasc’s basic attacks mark her enemies and deal bonus damage. Damage from Renata’s allies consumes the mark, dealing additional damage.

Q – Handshake

Renata Glasc sends out a missile from her robotic arm that roots the first enemy hit. She can reactivate the ability to throw the enemy in a target direction, damaging enemies hit and stunning them if the thrown target is a champion.

W – Bailout

Renata Glasc grants an allied champion or herself ramping Attack Speed and Move Speed toward enemies. If the ally gets a takedown on an enemy champion, the buff duration resets. If the ally would die while Bailout is still active, their health is set back to full but they begin burning to death over 3 seconds. The ally can stop the burn by getting a champion takedown before they die.

E – Loyalty Program

Renata Glasc sends out chemtech rockets that shield allies and damage and slow enemies they pass through. The rockets also apply their effects around her on cast and in an explosion at max range.

R – Hostile Takeover

Renata Glasc sends out a cloud of chemicals that causes enemies to go Berserk, increasing their Attack Speed and forcing them to basic attack anything around them. Berserk enemies prioritize attacking their own allies, then neutral units, then Renata Glasc’s team, then Renata Glasc herself.

System Adjustments

Support Item Changes for Solo lane

  • Minion Farming Penalty: 4 minions per minute >>> 2 per minute until 5m, 4 per minute rest of game
  • Farming Penalty is more severe early
  • CS Bounties now adjust based on the number of income items on each team
  • Objective Bounty gold leads are halved when you have two or more support items on a team
  • Objective Bounty Linger: 15s >>> 5s

“These are some quicker changes to pull down the support item top meta,” Riot Phlox said. “I don’t expect these to be the last of the changes in the space, but any larger ones need more time to validate.”
