Popular Verdansk map is returning to Call of Duty with Warzone 2.0. Here’s everything we know about Verdansk’s return to the game.

Verdansk was Call of Duty: Warzone’s first map and this map was loosely based on Russian frontier provinces, with many points of interest resembling campaign missions from previous games. The map had an overwhelmingly positive reception from the Call of Duty community.

With the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s release, the original Verdansk got a revamp to its Verdansk 84′ variation. The game introduced new points of interest to the game. Rebirth Island was added to the game with the Cold War Season 2 Reloaded update. Rebirth Island is completely different from Verdansk as the map has tight spaces and faster pacing where gunfights await players in every corner.

The new map Caldera is a tropical island with plenty of tight and open spaces. The map initially got a negative response from the community, but it is slowly starting to get admirable feedback from the community.

Future of Call of Duty: Warzone and Verdansk

Verdansk could be returning to Call of Duty with the release of Warzone 2.0 in 2023. In an interview with Warzone YouTuber TeeP, a developer stated that there are no concrete plans regarding the return of Verdansk because of the issue with backward integration, making the install sizes of the game bigger than it already is.

Later on, in a live stream, a developer from Activision revealed that Verdansk would be returning to certain platforms. Most players are speculating that Verdansk is coming to Warzone Mobile. However, we are hopeful that Verdansk will be returning for Warzone 2.0 in 2023 with a massive rework considering its massive popularity in the community.
