Patch 14.6 is coming soon in League of Legends, and it could be a big one.

We are almost a quarter into Season 14 of League of Legends. This Season has been very eventful with many new gameplay changes, including adding new Rift Monsters, changes, and an overhaul of items. There have also been many systematic changes, especially with Ranked, and some more are coming soon. For example, Vanguard will soon be introduced to League of Legends worldwide.

However, with all the massive changes, Riot has had to do an undertaking to balance the game. So, for most of the season so far, they have been tackling all the hurdles that have popped up due to gameplay elements being changed.

Patch 14.5 Is a proper example for them as they made massive changes to champions like Seraphine and Smolder. Meanwhile, Riot continues to make changes to Support Items and many others. The tug of war to balance the game continues.

That leads us to Patch 14.6 where a bunch of changes are expected to come in. Hence, let’s talk about all we know so far.

Disclaimer: Article is still in progress as Riot reveals new information.

Champion Buffs

From what we know currently, these are mostly going to be small changes, barring Diana and Tryndamere. Diana is getting some buffs for the jungle, while Tryndamere is getting undisclosed buffs.

Cho’Gath

Riot is giving some minor buffs to Cho’Gath to help him do a little more damage in lane and fights.

  • W – Feral Scream:
    • Cooldown: 13/12/11/10/9 seconds >>> 11/10.5/10/9.5/9 seconds.
  • E – Vorpal Spikes:
    • Damage: 22/34/46/58/70 (+30% AP) (+3% (+0.5% per Feast stack) of target’s Maximum Health) >>> 22/37/52/67/82 (+30% AP) (+3% (+0.5% per Feast stack) of target’s Maximum Health).

Diana

To help her Jungle clear, Riot is buffing Diana’s Attack Speed on multiple different fronts. Here they are.

  • Base Stats:
    • Attack Speed Ratio: 0.625 >>> 0.694.
    • Attack Speed Growth: 2.25% per level >>> 2% per level.
  • Passive – Moonsilver Blade:
    • Attack Speed: 15 – 40% bonus Attack Speed, every 3rd level >>> 15 – 35% bonus Attack Speed, now scaled linearly.
    • Time For Triple Attack Speed Bonus: 3 seconds >>> 5 seconds.

Ornn

This is just a small buff to his E cooldown.

  • E – Searing Charge:
    • Cooldown: 16/15/14/13/12 seconds >>> 14/13.5/13/12.5/12 seconds.

Shen

Riot is changing the cooldown refund Shen gets from his Passive.

  • Passive – Ki Barrier:
    • Cooldown Refund: 4 – 7.5 seconds (scaling at different level breakpoints) >>> 4 – 7.5 seconds (scaled linearly).

Sion

A bunch of changes are coming to Sion. His Decimating Smash is getting more AD scaling damage while his Shield value is being adjusted.

  • Q – Decimating Smash:
    • Minimum Damage: 40/60/80/100/120 (+45/52.5/60/67.5/75% total AD) >>> 40/60/80/100/120 (+40/50/60/70/80% total AD).
    • Maximum Damage: 90/155/220/285/350 (+135/157.5/180/202.5/225% total AD) >>> 90/155/220/285/350 (+120/150/180/210/240% total AD).
  • W – Soul Furnace:
    • Shield Strength: 60/85/110/135/160 (+40% AP)(+8/9/10/11/12% Maximum HP) >>> 60/75/90/105/120 (+40% AP)(+8/10/12/14/16% Maximum HP).

Tryndamere

Just a small Attack Speed scaling buff is being given to Tryndamere.

  • Base Stats:
    • Attack Speed Growth: 2.9% per level >>> 3.4% per level.

Champion Nerfs

Senna, Karma, Smolder, and Volibear have been tormenting Solo Queue, and three of them have recently done that in Pro Play. Riot has acknowledged that they messed up on the Smolder Hotfix and other changes. So expect a lot of changes coming for all of these champions just to remove the nuisance they are.

Briar

Briar has been somewhat of a terror in low ELO. Thus, Riot is making some changes to make sure she is on the right side of balance.

  • Q – Head Rush:
    • Can now jump to wards.
  • W – Blood Frenzy:
    • Bonus Attack Speed: 55/70/85/100/115% >>> 54/68/82/96/110%.
  • W – Snack Attack:
    • Healing: 25/30/35/40/45% of damage >>> 24/28/32/36/40% of damage.
  • R – Certain Death:
    • Damage: 150/300/450 (+50% bonus AD)(+120% AP) >>> 150/225/350 (+50% bonus AD)(+120% AP).

Gragas

Riot is putting in some small nerfs to his health and mana costs on his barrels.

  • Base Stats:
    • Health: 670 >>> 640.
  • Q – Barrell Roll:
    • Mana Cost: 80/75/70/65/60 >>> 80.

Karma

Some pretty big changes are coming for Karma as she has been one of the strongest mid laners for a while. Here are all of those nerfs.

  • Base Stats:
    • Mana Growth: 50 per level >>> 40 per level.
    • Mana Growth Regeneration: 0.5 per level >>> 0.8 per level.
  • Passive – Gathering Fire:
    • Mantra Cooldown Refund: 5 seconds >>> 4 seconds.
  • Q – Inner Flame:
    • Mana Cost: 45 >>> 40/50/60/70/80.
  • R – Mantra:

Senna

Smolder

Volibear

Champion Adjustments

Only Galio is getting adjustments, and Riot wants to move his itemization and playstyle to be more fun while also being more durable rather than the glass cannon builds recently. Also, Riot wants to keep Mid Lane Galio’s priority lane as opposed to Support.

  • Galio

Item Buffs

  • Infinity’s Edge
  • Lord Dominik’s Regard
  • Mortal Reminder
  • Navori Quickblades
  • Verdant Barrier

Item Nerfs

  • Bami’s Cinder
  • Brutalizer
  • Caufield’s Warhammer
  • Fiendish Codex
  • Glacial Shards
  • Haunting Guise
  • Hextech Alternator
  • Kircheis Shard
  • Specter’s Cowl
  • Tunneler

Item Adjustments

  • Hearthbound Axe
  • Support Items
  • Serrated Dirk
  • Steel Sigil

Other System Changes

Riot is making two quite significant changes here. One is regarding the Voidgrubs, and the other is making starter items completely unique.

Voidgrubs

Riot is changing the system of what happens when Voidgrubs die. Instead of getting Shields when one dies, they will heal instead. It is an interesting change, and Riot has said there will be more coming soon on this front.

Starter Items Are All Unique

With a new change in Patch 14.6, Riot is making Jungle Eggs, Doran items, and the Atlas unique to one another. This stops the current Senna itemization as well as many other builds like the double support bot lane, as they usually make a Doran item for the stats. It is a fundamental change that Riot should have made a while back.

Skins

High Noon is returning this year, with Yone getting two Legendary Skins and Evelynn getting a Prestige skin. Also, we are getting the first skin of the Crystalis Indomitus Skin line. Here are all of them.
