League of Legends Patch 14.22 Notes: New Changes, Release Date, and More

The upcoming Patch 14.22 preview is here, let’s go over all the changes.

Riot has been ramping up their updates over the last few patches. Starting with the mid-season update Riot has been giving us more and more changes. From the massive item adjustments in Patch 14.10 to the recent Teemo ASU, there has been a lot going on. It looks like Patch 14.22 is set to continue this trend.

Starting off with changes, one of the biggest changes coming to Patch 14.22 is the introduction of Ambessa Medarda. The last time we saw her was in Arcane Season One however starting from the next patch she will be playable in League of Legends. Ambessa is a hypermobile bruiser, capable of swiftly taking down enemies—think K’Sante but Noxian.

There are also other changes too. The Summoner Spell Barrier is getting some much-needed nerfs. Warwick is getting some love and there’s a lot more. So, without further ado let’s get into all the changes.

When Does LoL Patch 14.22 Release?

League of Legends Patch 14.22 is expected to be released on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

Buffs

Blitzcrank

E – Power Fist

  • Power Fist AD ratio increased to 100% AD from 80%.

Briar

Base Stats

  • Base health increased to 625 from 590.

Fizz

Q – Urchin Strike

  • AP ratio increased to 55% AP from 45% AP.

W – Seastone Trident

  • Active AP ratio increased to 45% AP from 40% AP.

Irelia

Passive – Ionian Fervor

  • New Effect: Damage now applies against structures at 50% damage.
  • New Effect: Duration is now refreshed against structures.

Katarina

E – Shunpo

  • Cooldown reduced to 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 seconds from 14 / 12.5 / 11 / 9.5 / 8.

R – Death Lotus

  • Cooldown reduced to 75 / 60 / 45 seconds from 90 / 60 / 45.

Kayle

Passive – Divine Ascent

  • Bonus attack speed AP ratio per stack increased to 1% per 100 AP from 0.5% per 100 AP.

Rumble

Base Stats

  • Base health increased to 655 from 625.

Swain

Base Stats

  • Base magic resistance increased to 31 from 30.
  • Magic resistance growth increased to 1.55 from 1.3.

Q – Death’s Hand

  • Base damage increased to 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 from 60 / 85 / 110 / 135 / 160.
  • Bonus base damage per bolt increased to 15 / 22.5 / 30 / 37.5 / 45 from 15 / 21.25 / 27.5 / 33.75 / 40.
  • Maximum base damage increased to 120 / 180 / 240 / 300 / 360 from 120 / 170 / 220 / 270 / 320.

R – Demonic Ascension

  • Heal health ratio per second increased to 1.5bonus health from 1.25bonus health.
  • Non-champion heal health ratio per second increased to 0.15bonus health from 0.125bonus health.

Varus

W – Blighted Quiver

  • On-hit base damage increased to 8 / 13 / 18 / 23 / 28 from 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25.

Vayne

R – Final Hour

  • Attack damage increased to 35 / 50 / 65 from 25 / 40 / 55.

Vel’Koz

E – Tectonic Disruption

  • Cooldown reduced to 14 / 13.5 / 13 / 12.5 / 12 from 16 / 15 / 14 / 13 / 12.

R – Life Form Disintegration Ray

  • Cooldown reduced to 100 / 90 / 80 from 120 / 100 / 80.

Vi

Passive – Blast Shield

  • Shield health ratio increased to 14% of her maximum health from 12%.

Warwick

W – Blood Hunt

  • Move Speed reduced from 35%-65% to 30%-50%
  • Mana cost was reduced from 70 to 35
  • Active range reduced from 4000 to 3000
  • Cooldown reduced from 100-40 seconds to 80-40
  • Cooldown is now reduced to 30% if no one is found
  • It no longer cools down twice as fast when not hunting
  • No longer put on a 3-second cooldown in combat

Wukong

Base Stats

  • Base mana increased to 330 from 300.

W – Warrior Trickster

  • Cooldown reduced to 18 / 17 / 16 / 15 / 14 from 22 / 20 / 18 / 16 / 14.

Aatrox

R – World Ender

  • World Ender Bonus attack damage was reduced to 20 / 30 / 40% AD from 20 / 32.5 / 45% AD.

Anivia

Base Stats

  • Armor growth reduced to 4.5 from 4.9

E – Frostbite

  • AP ratio reduced to 55% AP from 60% AP.
  • Chilled AP ratio was reduced to 110% AP from 120% AP.

Corki

Base Stats

  • Attack damage growth reduced to 2 from 2.5.
  • Mana growth reduced to 40 from 54.

Illaoi

Base Stats

  • Base attack damage was reduced to 65 from 68.
  • Mana growth reduced to 50 from 60.

Jax

R – Grandmaster-At-Arms

  • Cooldown increased to 110 / 100 / 90 from 100 / 90 / 80
  • Base damage was reduced to 100 / 175 / 250 from 150 / 250 / 350.

Lillia

Base Stats

  • Armor growth reduced to 4.5 from 5.2.

Passive – Dream-Laden Bough

  • Base heal per tick against monsters reduced to 6.5 at all levels from 6.5 − 9 (based on level).

Mordekaiser

E – Death’s Grasp

  • Base damage reduced to 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120 from 70 / 85 / 100 / 115 / 130.
  • AP ratio reduced to 40% AP from 60% AP.

Seraphine

Q – High Note

  • AP ratio reduced to 50% AP from 60% AP.
  • Maximum AP ratio against champions reduced to 80% AP from 96% AP.

Shen

Passive – Ki Barrier

  • Cooldown increased to 11 seconds from 10.
  • Cooldown refund increased to 4 − 8 (based on level) seconds from 4 − 7.5 (based on level).

R – Stand United

  • Minimum base shield was reduced to 120 / 220 / 320 from 130 / 290 / 450.
  • Minimum shield health ratio was reduced to 15% bonus health from 16%.

Sylas

Base Stats

  • Health growth reduced to 122 from 129.

Syndra

W – Force of Will

  • Base damage reduced to 70 / 105 / 140 / 175 / 210 from 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230.
  • AP ratio reduced to 65% AP from 70% AP.

Udyr

R – Wingborne Storm

  • Monster damage cap per tick changed to 7.5 per tick at all levels from 5 − 35 (based on level).
    • The total monster damage cap changed to 60 at all levels from 40 − 280 (based on level).
  • New Effect: Monster damage cap now scales with 50% AP and 100% bonus AD.
    • 400% AP and 800% bonus AD over the duration.

Base Stats

  • Movement speed increased to 335 from 330.

Passive – Sap Magic

  • Heal changed to 5% − 12% (based on level) of his maximum health from 4% − 12.8% (based on level).

E – Sapling Toss

  • Sapling base movement speed increased to 400 − 460 (based on level) from 400 at all levels.
  • Removed: Sapling movement speed is no longer increased by boots.

K’Sante

Q – Ntofo Strikes

  • Base damage reduced to 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 / 190 from 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 / 200.

E – Footwork

  • Dash speed while R – All Out increased to 1250 from 950.

Passive – Drakehound’s Step

  • When Ambessa casts an ability, issuing a move or Attack order will cause her to dash after the Ability finishes. Casting an ability also gives Ambessa a charge, which increases her attack range and speed. Attacks consume a charge to deal additional damage and restore Energy.

Q – Cunning Sweep / Sundering Slam

  • Ambessa sweeps her blades forward in a semi-circle, dealing extra damage to enemies at the edge. If you hit an enemy, it readies Sundering Slam.
  • Sundering Slam (Recast): Ambessa slams down her blades, dealing bonus damage to the first enemy hit.

W – Repudiation

  • Ambessa gains a shield, braces herself, then slams the ground. If she braces herself from damage by an enemy champion, large monster, or structure, she does more damage with her slam.

E – Lacerate

  • Ambessa whips her chains in a circle, damaging and briefly slowing enemies. Using Drakehound’s Step (Passive) will trigger an additional strike.

R – Public Execution

  • Passive: Ambessa gains Armor Penetration and her Abilities heal her.
  • Active: Ambessa becomes unstoppable and blinks to the farthest enemy champion in a line. She suppresses the target before slamming them for damage and a Stun.

Patch 14.22 Item Changes

Youmuu’s Ghostblade

  • Now grants 4% Movement Speed
  • AD reduced from 60 to 55
  • Recipe:
    • Old:  Serrated Dirk + Rectrix + Pickaxe + 150g  =  2800g
    • New:  Serrated Dirk + Rectrix + Long Sword + 675g  =  2800g

Opportunity

  • AD increased from 50 to 55
  • Recipe:
    • Old:  Serrated Dirk + Rectrix + 925g = 2700g
    • New:  Pickaxe + Serrated Dirk + Long Sword + 475g = 2700g
  • Decaying Kill Speed:  200 for 1.5s –> 300 for 2.0s
  • Kill Speed is now only when “running away from enemy champions”
  • No longer grants an innate +4% Movement Speed

Statikk Shiv

  • Total cost reduced to  2700 from  2900.
    • Combine cost was reduced to  450 from  650.
  • Attack damage was reduced to 45 from 50.
  • Attack speed reduced to 30% from 35%.
  • Unique Passive – Electrospark:
    • New effect: Your next 3 attacks on-hit within 8 seconds deal 60 bonus magic damage, increased to 85 against non-champions. This bounces to the closest target within 500 units, repeating from the new target to strike up to 5 targets (25 − 10 (based on level) (begins after the first attack) second cooldown).
    • Old effect: Upon killing a minion or monster, unleash an electric spark at the location of their death which chains to the closest target within 500 units, repeating from the new one to strike up to 6 targets, dealing 120 magic damage to each (3-second cooldown).
  • Unique Passive – Electroshock:
    • New effect: Scoring a takedown against an enemy champion within 3 seconds of damaging them resets Electrospark’s cooldown.
    • Old effect: Scoring a takedown against an enemy champion unleashes a lightning shock at the location of their death which chains to the closest target within 650 units, repeating from the new one to strike up to 186 targets, dealing 270 magic damage to each.

Yun Tal Wildarrows

  • New:
    • Recipe:  B. F. Sword +  Scout’s Slingshot +  Long Sword +  750 =  3000.
    • Stats: 50 attack damage, 20% attack speed.
    • Unique Passive – Practice Makes Lethal: Basic attacks on attack grant 0.2% critical strike chance, stacking up to 125 times for a total of 25% critical strike chance.
      • Practice Makes Lethal critical strike chance per stack increased to 0.5% on ARAM.
      • Practice Makes Lethal maximum stacks reduced to 50 on ARAM.
    • Unique Passive – Flurry: Attacking an enemy champion grants you a 30% bonus attack speed for 4 seconds (40-second cooldown, reduced by 1 second on the attack, or 2 seconds if it critically strikes).

Patch 14.22 System Changes

  • Epic Monster prioritization range reduced from 300 to 125

Patch 14.22 Skins

This patch introduces a new skin line called Chosen of the Wolves, which will be coming with six skins. It will also be the first time a champion’s release skin is a Legendary tier skin.
