Riot Games officially confirms that ARURF will be returning to League of Legends in Patch 25.S1.2.
Riot Games recently released the 2025 Dev Blog. In it, They outlined their plans for League of Legends this year, which include new skin lines, upcoming champions, and changes to Esports. Moreover, Riot also announced the return of the popular ARURF game mode.
Released in April 2015, ARURF is an incredibly chaotic yet fun alternate game mode that allows players to spam champions’ abilities with next to no cooldown and without the worry of running out of Mana. As the name suggests ARURF or All Random Ultra Rapid Fire is a variant of URF that forgoes the champion selection process and gives players a random champion.
Over the years, URF and ARURF have become one of the most popular game modes in League of Legends. But despite its massive popularity, Riot doesn’t release the game mode too often. Players are usually treated to URF or ARURF once a year, twice if they are lucky.
That said, Riot is bringing back ARURF in celebration of the Lunar New Year. Starting Patch 25.S1.2, players will be able to enjoy the fast-paced combat of URF throughout the Lunar New Year celebrations. Moreover, this will be the first time players will get to test out URF with the new season 2025 changes.
