Find all the VIP Bots in Astro’s Playroom.
VIP Bots, or Special Bots, are hidden bots that you can find in each of Astro’s Playroom’s biomes. They were added as an update to the game in the lead-up to the release of its sequel, Astro Bot.
There are four of these VIP Bots to find, and each of them represents a VIP Bot from Astro Bot. Furthermore, each Bot’s design is inspired by an iconic Playstation game.
Once you’ve freed a VIP Bot, you can find it in the Mission Control Area of the new Labo Basement.
Moreover, once you’ve found all four VIP Bots, you can transfer them over to Astro Bot.
In this article, we’ll look at how you can get all four VIP Bots in Astro’s Playroom.
How to Get VIP Bots
Before you can start collecting VIP Bots, you’ll need to finish all levels of Astro’s Playroom, including 1994 Throwback and the T-Rex Boss.
Hunted Down Bot Location (GPU Jungle)
This bot is found in the GPU Jungle and is located in Renderforest, the first level of the biome.

Once you’ve started the level, head straight forward and climb the first ledge. From there, go through the grass on the left to find a Bloodborne Bot cutting.
Stand in the leafy bush behind the bot, and a platform with a capsule holding a more detailed version of the Bloodborne Bot will appear.

Next, climb the platforms and activate the mechanism. Then, climb the circular platforms above this area, and cross the rope bridge to the next platform. You will find a small clock on the side of a tree.

Press pause for the game to prompt you to set a date. Input 24 – 11 – 2015, Bloodborne’s release date.
This will free the Hunted Down Bot.

Deja Phewl Bot Location (SSD Speedway)
This VIP Bot is found in Deep Dataspace, the second on-foot level of SSD Speedway.

Progress through the level until you’ve found the chest with the Gatling Gun. Stand on the edge to the left of it, to reveal the capsule containing the Deja Phewl Bot.

Using the Gatling Gun, blast your way through the first corridor. When the projectile enemies, the Spitters appear, you’ll need to leave at least one alive, so you can die to them.

Climb past the Spitters, reach the top walls of the room, walking across the white beams at the edges. Up here, you’ll spot a small astronaut toy lying on the ground. Stand over it and a blue circle will appear around it.

Wait for one of the Spitters’ projectiles to hit you. Once it does, you’ll respawn at the last checkpoint, and the Deja Phew Bot will be free.

Grand Tourist Bot Location (Cooling Springs)
To find this bot, you’ll need to head to Bot Beach in the Cooling Springs biome. This bot is the most complex of the four to get.
To start, you’ll need to step on four starfish in this order:
Starfish #1

On the right side of the beach beneath the bridge with the fishing Astro Bots.
Starfish #2

On the left side of the beach near the Kratos boat.
Starfish #3

Go back to where you dropped onto the beach (anticlockwise from the second starfish), where it’s a little inland, next to a palm tree.
Starfish #4

Return to Starfish #2’s location and continue north along the shore, alongside the large, blue metal pipe. At the end, close to the base of the building, you’ll find the Starfish.
Stepping on all four starfish will reveal the capsule holding the Grand Tourist Bot.
On this capsule, there will be a screen that displays a racetrack.

Head to the far-right corner of the beach beside the building opposite where the Grand Tourist Bot is. Here you’ll find a blue shell which you can break to find a steering wheel.

Stand in front of the steering wheel and press the option button to bring up the map. If you followed the steps correctly so far, you’ll hear a car engine.
Press the following buttons to trace out the racetrack on the capsule screen :
up, left, down, down, left, down, down, right, up, right, down, right, up, up, right, up, left, left.
If you make a mistake, you’ll hear a tire screech and can press the option button to start over.
If you’ve done it correctly, you’ll free the Grand Tourist Bot.

No Escape! Bot Location (Memory Meadow)
To find this Bot, head to Gusty Gateway, the first level in Memory Meadow.

Activate the two rope bridges and return to the starting area. To the side, you’ll find another set of wires. Pull it to reveal a throwable canister.

With the canister, cross the two rope bridges. Once you cross the second bridge, you’ll see an Ape Escape scene and a blue spot in the clouds.

Throw the canister towards the blue spot and the capsule holding the No Escape bot will appear. Continue through the stage to get to the area with a cloud shaped like a PS1. Use the cloud to reach the ledges on the opposite wall.

Climb the wall to get to a higher platform with a tree. Hold the Square Button to punch the tree and bananas will fall out. Takes these bananas back to the capsule.

The Bot will then perform some dance moves that you have to match in a mini-game. The order of these dances are random and will vary for each player.

Below are the possible dance moves and their corresponding buttons.
- Up: Flossing
- Left: The Carlton
- Down: Toe taps and dabs
- Right: Stayin Alive
If you fail the minigame, you’ll need to get another set of bananas to bring back. If you succeed, you will unlock the No Escape! Bot.
