Here is a small guide on how to create and use a map in Minecraft.
Minecraft is a survival sandbox game where players must focus on surviving in the vast open world, building different structures, and crafting items. The world in Minecraft is massive, and you will always get lost in the wilderness if you don’t keep track of where your base is located.
You can craft a map of your Minecraft world, which will help you locate where you are and keep track of the area you are about to explore. A map will help you mark a certain point and help you navigate through the world to reach your destinations. Once you create a map, you set custom markers on different locations, which is helpful for exploration.

Here is a small guide on how to create a map in Minecraft.
Creating a Map in Minecraft
You need one compass and eight pieces of paper to craft a map. You can craft paper by collecting sugarcane, which you can find near water in the overworld. Place three sugarcanes on the crafting table to get three pieces of paper, and you need eight pieces of paper to craft a map.
Next, you must make a compass, which you can craft using four iron ingots and one piece of redstone. You can mine iron ore and Redstone when you go to a ravine to mine for materials. Going deeper within a cave gives you a higher chance of finding iron ores and redstone.
Then, mine and smelt four iron ores with a furnace, and you will get four iron ingots. If you find Redstone, mine it with an iron or diamond pickaxe to get redstone dust.
Once you’ve mined the redstone dust, go to the crafting table and place the four ingots in four spaces adjacent to the middle grid. Now, place the one piece of Redstone dust to craft a compass.

Go to the crafting table again, place the compass in the middle slot, and put paper in the rest of the slots to make an empty map. You can now use the empty map to fill out the details of your current location.
How to Use the Empty Map
When you create a map for the first time, it will be empty and have no details of your surroundings. Equip the empty map in one of the hot bar slots and use it to draw everything in your location instantly. To use the empty map to draw everything around you, use Right-click while equipping the empty map.
This is how you can craft and use a map to draw everything around your location in Minecraft.
