Learn all about the status effects in God of War Ragnarok.
Ragnarok is at the door, Atreus wants to explore the realm, Odin is watching over you with his pet ravens, Faye ambushes whenever and wherever, and Tyr is acting like a baby while you are just trying to take good ol’ night’s sleep. Life is hard for Kratos. The hype of the game and the sequel of this Nordic mythology seems to make him relentless and restless. Despite all these, Kratos needs enough buff to stand against several mythological gods and their minions.
To prepare for that, Kratos needs to buff himself with Aesir magic. Now, this magic alone can affect his status and inflict extra damage on his foes. With these status effects from the Aesir magic, Kratos can have less headache than usual.
Today, we will be discussing the status effects that Kratos can enable in God of War Ragnarok.

What are the Status Effects
Status effects can be described as buffs. When a foe is impacted by any of the status effects described below, it will be inflicted with various disadvantages, which can be an opportunity for Kratos to deal more damage. You will be able to see a meter on the foe’s health bar. This indicates the type of Status effect and how long it will last.
Did I tell you that these effects can also be inflicted upon the Ghost of Sparta? Boy, does he get inflicted.
All Status Effects
Status Ailment | Effect |
---|---|
Bifrost | Occupies the health bar at first. A second hit will cause it to detonate, which will take out a massive amount of health |
Blind | Visibility decreases |
Burn | Inflicts burn damage over time |
Daze | Dizziness for a brief period of time |
Frost | Slows down all kinds of movement |
Hex | Amplifies the other Status effects |
Poison | Lowers the Power Level by 1 |
Shock | Gets locked in the current position |
Sonic | Inflicts a heavy stun damage |
As mentioned earlier, be careful on the field, as these can also be inflicted on you. However, be fast enough to dodge the attacks while inflicting the status effect on your foes in God of War Ragnarok.
