Neuvillette Talents
Normal & Charged Attacks
Neuvillette’s normal and charge attack has decent scaling compared to other catalyst-using characters. The charge attack has two levels. At level 1, it is similar to the charge attack of any other catalyst user in Genshin.
Level 2 is where things start to get interesting. Upon holding the charge attack, Neuvillette will start to form a ring called ‘Seal of Arbitration’. When this is active, Neuvillette will take to the air and can move around based on your movement keys.
When the charging for ‘Seal of Arbitration’ is complete, Neuvillette will release a water geyser or laser beam-like attack at his foes. Changing Neuvillette’s eye and body position will also change the attack direction.
Elemental Skill
Neuvillette’s elemental skill, O Tears, I Shall Repay, summons a miniature waterfall that deals AoE damage to enemies and generates 3 source-water droplets.
These source water droplets will heal Neuvillette and also be consumed for an instant level 2 charge attack.
Elemental Burst
Neuvillette’s elemental burst, O Tides, I have Returned, hit opponents with a wave of water followed by two waterfalls, which generate a total of 6 water-source droplets in the field.
Ascension Passives
Ascension 1
When a party member triggers a Vaporize, Frozen, Electro-Charged, Bloom, Hydro Swirl, or a Hydro Crystallize reaction on opponents, 1 stack of Past Draconic Glories will be granted to Neuvillette for 30s. Max 3 stacks. Past Draconic Glories cause Charged Attack: Equitable Judgment to deal 110%/125%/160% of its original DMG.
The stacks of Past Draconic Glories created by each kind of Elemental Reaction exist independently.
Ascension 2
For each 1% of Neuvillette’s current HP greater than 30% of Max HP, he will gain a 0.6% Hydro DMG Bonus. A maximum bonus of 30% can be obtained this way.
Neuvillette Constellations
Constellation | Effect |
---|---|
Venerable Institution (C1) | When Neuvillette is on the field, he obtains one stack of Past Draconic Glories from his first passive talent when it’s unlocked. Neuvillette’s interruption resistance is also increased when using his Equitable Judgment and Legal Evaluation charged attacks. |
Juridical Exhortation (C2) | Neuvillette’s first passive talent is enhanced, with each stack of Past Draconic Glories increasing the Crit damage of Charged Attack: Equitable Judgment by 14%. The maximum increase that can be achieved this way is 42%. |
Ancient Postulation (C3) | Increases the Level of Neuvillette’s normal attack by three, with a maximum upgrade level of 15. |
Crown of Commiseration (C4) | When Neuvillette is on the field and is healed, one Sourcewater Droplet is generated. This effect can occur once every four seconds. |
Axiomatic Judgment (C5) | Increases the Level of Neuvillette’s Elemental Burst by three, with a maximum upgrade level of 15. |
Wrathful Recompense (C6) | When using Charged Attack: Equitable Judgment, Neuvillette can absorb nearby Sourcewater Droplets in an AoE. Each absorbed Droplet increases the duration of the Equitable Judgment charged attack by one second. Additionally, when Equitable Judgment hits opponents, it fires off two additional currents every two seconds, each of which deals 10% of Neuvillette’s max HP stat as Hydro damage. Damage dealt this way is counted as damage dealt by Equitable Judgment. |
Artifacts
The 4 piece Marechaussee Hunter will be the best in-slot artifact set for Neuvillette. It will provide him with a charge attack buff and essential crit damage & HP percentage.

Neuvillette Weapons
As a main DPS, crit-based weapons will be the best choice for Neuvillette. You can also pair him with HP-based weapons, but you should be rocking a lot of HP from your artifacts, so that isn’t necessary.
Here is a list of the best weapons for Neuvillette:
Weapon | Description |
---|---|
Tome of Eternal Flow (Signature Weapon) | The signature weapon for Neuvillette. Offers high amount of crit damage and passive oriented around him. |
Sacrificial Jade | Alternative 5 star option with high HP scaling && damage boost. |
Kagura’s Verity | Alternative 5 star option with good crit damage and high base ATK. |
Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds | Alternative 5 star option that offers crit rate and ATK speed increase |
The Widsith | A great 4 star option that comes with great passive and crit damage substat. |
Prototype Amber | Increases HP and elemental skill damage that you can craft from the Blacksmith. |
Best Team Comps
Neuvillette has a lot of team choice options and is suitable for:
- Freeze teams
- Taser teams
- Vape teams
- Hyperbloom teams
If you don’t have his C1, then having a shielder on your team can be the most effective choice. We recommend Zhongli or Diona for this role. Neuvillette synergizes perfectly with Kazuha but isn’t that compatible with Bennet.
That being said, here are some popular teams you can try with Neuvillette:
- Neuvillette, Zhongli/Gorou, Kazuha/Sucrose, Flex Element (Pyro, Cryo, Dendro Characters)
- Neuvillette, Nahida/Collei/ Dendro Traveller, Kokomi/Barbara, Kazuha/Sucrose
- Neuvillette, Kazuha/Sucrose, Shenha/Rosaria, Diona/Barbara
- Neuvillette, Fischl/Lisa, Kazuha/Sucrose,Noel/Zhogli/Gorou
- Neuvillette, Xianling, Bennet, Kazuha/Sucrose
Neuvillette Playstyle
Neuvillette will be an on-field main DPS. He will require support that compliments his passives. That is why he will be an on-field driver. The key focus will be on his level 2 charge attacks.
With proper time management and team rotation, you should be able to spam his charge attack on every turn. Start your rotation with his elemental skill and use the 3 water-source droplets for an instant charge attack.
His elemental skill will generate 4 water particles, which can easily power up his burst. As you know, his burst will generate 6 new water-source droplets, which you should use to spam your charge attack twice. By then, your elemental skill should be recharged, and you can do this all over again.
Your supporters will have to make their appearance in between your charge attacks.
