After a disappointing run in the Six Invitational 2021, G2 Esports has decided to make some big changes to their Rainbow Six Siege roster.

Today, the organization has announced the signing of former Vitality player Lucas “Hungry” Reich and MnM Gaming player Jonas “Jonka” Kaczmarzyk.

These new signings mean that longtime G2 members Juhani “Kantoraketti” Toivonen and Aleksi “UUNO” Työppönen will be benched from the Siege roster.

Kanto was the last player from the Six Invitational 2019 winning G2 roster, and with him now dropped only head coach Thomas “Shas[O]Udas” Lee remains from the dominating era of G2 Esports in the R6S scene.

After Siege legend ‘Penguretired, G2 replaced him with ‘Kayak‘, who had some good performances in stage 1 of EUL. However, the team lacked consistency and proper communication, and at the same time, UUNO and Kanto were not playing up to their mark. G2 were knocked out from SI’2021 by the Challenger League team of Parabellum Esports in the first playoffs round. This eventually led the org to bench the Finnish duo and try a different approach.

In a Twitlonger post, Kanto has stated that he will keep grinding and come back strong with another team. While UUNO has said that he needs some time away from the game to relax and will decide later if he’ll continue playing Siege as a pro-player.

Hungry, who has been in the Siege esports community for a long time now, will now bring all his experience to G2. On the other hand, Jonka has made quite a name for himself on MnM Gaming, and he will now get the chance to show off his skills on the top stage of Siege esports.

G2 Esports R6S roster:

  • Ben ‘CTZN‘ McMillan
  • Jake ‘Virtue‘ Grannan
  • Jordan ‘Kayak‘ Morley
  • Lucas ‘Hungry‘ Reich
  • Jonas ‘Jonka‘ Kaczmarzyk
  • ThomasShas[O]UdasLee

The new G2 Esports Rainbow Six Siege roster will be in full action on June 17, when the 2nd stage of 2021 EUL season will restart.
