Future of Fortnite IOS becomes uncertain as Epic Games loses the Lawsuit against Apple

The final verdict of the Epic Vs Apple lawsuit is out and Epic has lost.

Back in August of 2020 Epic Games removed the Apple and Google Play Store payment method and introduced their direct payment method. This reduced the price of V-Bucks by 20%. As a response to this Apple removed Fortnite from the Apple Store and also removed Epic’s developer account. Soon after this Epic Games sued Apple and Google in an effort to being back Fortnite to IOS.

But all of this was nearly 12 months ago and the final verdict of the Epic Vs Apple lawsuit is finally here. According to imgoldenyt on Twitter, Epic Games has lost the lawsuit. The court also decided to rule in favor of Apple on all accounts.

This verdict means that the possibility of Fortnite returning to IOS devices is slim. According to The Verge, although Epic lost the lawsuit, the court has said that Apple must allow other forms of in-app purchases. Previously all apps and games on the Apple store were required to use Apple’s payment method.
