In this post-climate disaster world, you have to manage resources, keep your population happy, and mediate between several factions.
While resource management makes up a large portion of the game, it must be done with the people’s happiness kept in mind. Moreover, you must keep order in your city, so that you may actually govern it and help it thrive.
There are several problems that your city might face, including disease, hunger, crime, and most prominently, cold. All these factors contribute to Tension in your city. If the Tension reaches a boiling point, chaos will fill your city, leading to its downfall.

What is Tension
Tension reflects how troubled and upset your citizens are. Several factors contribute to Tension, and it is important to keep it as low as possible.
Rising Tension will lead to dissent among the population, and failing to prevent it will cause your city to fall and your leadership to end.
Tension is indicated by the glass orb at the center of your screen which fills with dark liquid as Tension rises.
How to Reduce Tension
Factors Contributing to Tension
There are several problems that your city can face, all of which contribute to Tension rising. These are Cold, Hunger, Squalor, Disease, and Crime. Below is a list of the causes of each of these problems, and how to prevent them:

Fervour
Factions that you have bad relations, or have high Fervour has a significant contribution to Tension. Avoid radicalizing these factions and maintain their Trust.
Bad relationships with these communities can cause people to protest. You can maintain good relationships with factions by keeping promises, funding projects, granting agendas, and promoting the faction.
Research Ideas
Some Ideas such as Liberated Youth and buildings such as the Fighting Hub can decrease Tension.
