Keep reading to learn how long it takes to complete Clive’s epic adventure in Final Fantasy 16.
Final Fantasy XVI (FF16) is the latest action RPG from Square Enix. It is the sixteenth mainline entry in Square Enix’s hit RPG series of Final Fantasy. Set in the fictional world of Valisthea, FF16 tells the story of a new protagonist named Clive Rosfield.
Although most iconic elements from the Final Fantasy franchise make a comeback, starting from Chocobos to mythological beings like Ifrit, Shiva, and Titan, the new installment did not bring back the open-world setting from FF15.
Instead, the game features large explorable areas filled with side quests to do and monsters to defeat. Moreover, the classic Summons have also been replaced with a newly introduced concept of Eikons, allowing you to draw the power of each god that awakens inside you.

To give you an overall idea of how much time you must invest in concluding Clive’s adventure, we will go over the total duration of Final Fantasy 16 for both story-focused gameplay and 100% completion.
FF16 Total Duration
Final Fantasy 16 features some pretty heavy lore, including a war between the six nations of Valisthea, slavery, and more. However, despite the grandiose world setting, the game’s story falls fairly short by RPG and JRPG standards.
If you wish to focus solely on experiencing Clive’s story, then it will take you around 35 to 40 hours to beat the game. You can shorten this duration by skipping long cutscenes and avoiding needless exploration. However, we do not recommend doing that for obvious reasons.
As mentioned earlier, despite not being open-world, FF16 does offer players additional content like engaging side stories and Notorious Marks bounty hunts that are completely optional. If you happen to be a completionist looking to secure that Platinum trophy, then it will take you around 50 hours to beat the game.
