Learn how to perform every new and updated skill move in EA Sports FC 25.

One of the most fun parts about the FIFA/ FC series is the ability to recreate real-life skill moves to beat opponents. The series has become more and more offense-heavy with new installments and FC 25 is no different.

While it doesn’t have as many brand-new skill moves as its predecessor, FC 25 has several new and adjusted skill moves for players to learn. These new skill moves are:

  1. Big Feint (2-Star Skill Move)
  2. Stop and Go (2-Star Skill Move)
  3. Step Over Ball (4-Star Skill Move)
  4. Toe Drag Stepover (5-Star Skill Move)

Being able to do skill moves is crucial to beating defenders, 1 on 1 or otherwise, and learning these new ones will definitely help you succeed.

Thus, we’ve listed down all the new skill moves added in EA FC 25, as well as all the adjusted skill moves, so that you can improve your offensive capabilities.

All New Skill Moves

Big Feint (2-Star Skill Move)

  • How to Perform: Hold L2/LT + Flick RS Left and then Right (+ LS Direction to Exit)

The Big Feint is an exaggerated fake where the player lunges over the ball to make the defender think they’re going in one direction, to bait them into committing defensively, before swiftly changing to the other direction.

This move can be performed by most of the players in the game, as it is a 2-star skill move, and is very easy to learn. It also has different animations depending on whether you’re stationary or dribbling.

Stop And Go (2-Star Skill Move)

  • How to Perform: Hold L2/LT + Flick RS Back and then Forward (cancelable)

Using this skill move will make your player slow down and turn the ball in the other direction to fake the defender, before speeding up to the front to try and beat them.

It’s an easy skill move to perform and can be done using most of the players in the game as it is only a 2-star skill move, and can be effective in beating high presses

Step Over Ball (4-Star Skill Move)

  • How to Perform: Hold L1/LB + Flick RS Forward and then Left/Right (cancelable)

When performed, the player does an exaggerated step over the ball and then flicks the ball back in the direction you move the RS to (left or right).

Step Over Ball is a very good skill move, especially for wingers. It is a very quick change of direction and can help create space and beat defenders, making it useful for creating opportunities in the box as well as long shots. It is also useful to beat defenders coming in from behind if you can anticipate their tackles.

While not every player will be able to do it, most attackers will be able to, since it is a 4-star move.

Toe Drag Stepover (5-Star Skill Move)

  • How to Perform: Hold L1/LB + Rotate RS Right, Back, Left or Rotate RS Left, Back, Right (half-circle/180 degrees)

When performed, the player steps over the ball, fakes a touch, steps over the ball again, and dribbles it forward.

It is the only new 5-star skill move and can only be performed by the most top-tier attackers, such as Vinicius Jr.

Like most skill moves, it is used to bait the opponent into committing to attack any open space. However, it is not as effective as moves such as Step Over Ball and can be easy to predict.

Adjusted Skill Moves

EA FC 25 also has adjustments to already existing skill moves; these are:

  • New Fake Shots for Players with the Trickster playstyle: Square/Circle + X + LS direction (Playstation) or X/B + A + LS direction (Xbox) from stand or jog
  • Updated Animation for Drag Turn (4 Star):  Hold L2/LT + flick RS forward, and then flick left or right
  • Drag Back Spin (4 Star): Hold L2/LT + Flick RS Forward, Flick Left/Right
  • New Backheel Touch (4-star) animation: Hold L1/LB + R1/RB + Flick RS Direction
