Its all over for the revamped edition of Anthem aptly named ‘Anthem Next’.
Following the lackluster release of Anthem back in 2019, BioWare immediately threw away their plan for extra expansions that they were working on and made a new team to revamp the core game since the end game, story, combat of Anthem was received poorly by critics.

A recent report revealed that Anthem’s future was going to be decided after an internal review of the latest build of ‘Anthem Next’. And turns out, the final decision is to cancel the big revamp altogether.
BioWare finally gave an official response
“In the spirit of transparency and closure we wanted to share that we’ve made the difficult decision to stop our new development work on Anthem (aka Anthem NEXT),” BioWare executive producer Christian Dailey revealed in a recent blog post on their official website.
“We will, however, continue to keep the Anthem live service running as it exists today.” he also added.
In short, EA will keep the game alive as it is today but will no longer support the total revamp of the core game. Currently, there are plenty of examples of games that were released in a poor state but with proper support and long-term commitment from the dev team finally prevailed.

Unfortunately, the exact same can’t be said about Anthem as this time EA has finally decided to stop any further rework. However, they still intend to keep the current live service version of the game running. In essence, they finally moved on from ‘Anthem Next’.
