Riot has finally unveiled the long-awaited DRX skins, including DRX Maokai, which will release on patch 13.11.
League of Legends Worlds Championship is the most anticipated event in League of Legends. In this event, the best team from around the world compete against each other.
Like Worlds, the team skins are also a staple tradition in the game. We receive a skin line every year around the mid-season period based on the winning team from the previous year’s Worlds.
We received the first team skin in the form of the TPA skin line, as they were the winners of Worlds 2012. A year later, Riot released the team skin for Fnatic, the champions of the first Worlds tournament. And since then, Riot has been releasing team skins each year.
Moreover, the quality of the team skins has also increased drastically, especially after the release of SSG skins in 2017. The last team skin line we received, EDG, is the best Worlds skins yet.
Last year, DRX won Worlds 2022. Naturally, fans were excited to see the skin line based on their favorite team. And recently, Riot has finally revealed the DRX skin line.
The upcoming DRX skin line will include 7 skins, the highest number we have received in a team-based skin line. One of the skins is DRX Maokai, honoring Juhan’s wun during Worlds 2022.
The newest DRX skin line looks similar to prior team skins because of the theme. It is not negative, as the visual particles and sound effects are distinct and well-made. Furthermore, the models are still recognizable. As for Maokai, we haven’t received a good Maokai skin in a while. Moreover, compared to his other skins, the DRX skin will be by far his best skin.

Release Date
The DRX skin line is expected to hit live servers on patch 13.11, scheduled to be released on Friday, June 2, 2023.
