Pearl Abyss has officially pulled back the curtain on the PC, console, and Mac specs for Crimson Desert, giving players a much clearer idea of what kind of hardware they will need before jumping into the studio’s long-awaited action-adventure. The new performance charts cover everything from minimum and ultra PC requirements to PlayStation, Xbox, ROG Xbox Ally, and Mac targets, making this one of the most detailed technical breakdowns the game has received so far.

What stands out right away is that Crimson Desert looks surprisingly scalable. On one end, the game can run on a GTX 1060 class GPU at the minimum preset. On the other hand, Pearl Abyss is also targeting 4K 60 FPS on ultra tier hardware and even outlining ray tracing expectations across modern consoles. That gives the game a much broader range than many fans probably expected after years of trailers showing off dense visuals and cinematic combat. The official notice also says these figures are based on internal testing, and real world performance may vary depending on hardware, software, and settings.

Crimson Desert PC specs look more reasonable than expected

The newly shared PC specifications suggest Pearl Abyss is aiming for a wide hardware spread. At the minimum preset, the target is upscaled 1080p at 30 FPS from 900p, using either an AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, paired with a Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel i5 8500. Even at that entry point, the game still asks for 16 GB of RAM, which has clearly become the modern baseline for bigger AAA releases.

The recommended tiers scale up in a pretty clean way. The recommended preset targets 1080p 60 FPS or 4K 30 FPS with an RX 6700 XT or RTX 2080, while the high preset aims for 1440p 60 FPS with an RX 7700 XT or RTX 4070. If you want to go all the way to 4K 60 FPS on ultra, Pearl Abyss says you will need something closer to an RX 9070 XT or RTX 5070 Ti, alongside a Ryzen 7 7700X or Intel i5 13600K. Across every PC tier, the game requires Windows 10 64 bit 22H2 or newer, 16 GB RAM, and 150 GB of SSD storage, with the official announcement also noting that the latest DirectX 12 is required.

That last part may end up being the real talking point. A 150 GB SSD requirement is huge, and for plenty of players, that storage demand could matter more than the GPU requirement itself.

PlayStation and Xbox versions target multiple modes

Pearl Abyss also laid out performance targets for the console versions, and the split between modes feels pretty familiar for a modern AAA game.

On PlayStation 5, the Performance mode targets 1080p at 60 FPS VSync or 60 plus FPS with VRR, while Balanced mode targets upscaled 4K from 1280p using FSR 3 at 40 FPS VSync. Quality mode goes for upscaled 4K from 1440p using FSR 3 at 30 FPS VSync. Ray tracing is listed as low in Performance and Balanced, and high in Quality.

On PlayStation 5 Pro, the targets step up a bit more. Performance mode aims for upscaled 4K from 1080p at 60 FPS VSync or 60 plus FPS with VRR, while Balanced mode goes for upscaled 4K from 1440p at 40 FPS VSync or 48 plus FPS with VRR. Quality mode is listed at native 4K 30 FPS, and ray tracing quality rises to high in Performance and Balanced, and ultra in Quality. The official console notes add that higher refresh and VRR features require a compatible display and HDMI 2.1 cable.

The Xbox side is a little more mixed, which is not surprising. On Xbox Series S, Performance mode targets 720p at 40 FPS VSync, while Quality mode targets 1080p at 30 FPS VSync, with ray tracing off in both. On Xbox Series X, Performance mode aims for 1080p at 60 FPS VSync or 60 plus FPS with VRR, Balanced mode targets upscaled 4K from 1280p using FSR 3 at 40 FPS VSync, and Quality mode targets upscaled 4K from 1440p using FSR 3 at 30 FPS VSync. Ray tracing sits at low in Performance and Balanced, then moves to high in Quality.

Crimson Desert Mac specs are one of the biggest surprises

One of the more interesting parts of this reveal is how seriously Pearl Abyss seems to be taking the Mac version of Crimson Desert. The company did not just confirm support. It published a full chart covering chip tiers, resolutions, frame targets, ray tracing behavior, and operating system versions.

According to the official chart, macOS 15.0 or later is required, 16 GB RAM is listed across the board, and both the Steam and App Store versions need 150 GB of storage. For minimum level play, Pearl Abyss lists systems such as M2 Pro, M3, and M4 targeting 720p or 900p at 30 FPS with MetalFX upscale on macOS 15, or 720p or 900p at 60 FPS with MetalFX upscale and frame interpolation on macOS 26 or later.

Recommended targets move up to 1080p at 30 FPS on macOS 15 and 1080p at 60 FPS on macOS 26 plus, with chips like M3 Pro, M4 Pro, and M5. Higher tiers then scale toward 1440p 60 FPS and even 4K 60 FPS, with the ultra end calling for chips like M3 Ultra or M4 Max. Pearl Abyss also says it recommends macOS 26 Tahoe or later for the best performance and stability.

That is a notable move because it signals real confidence in Apple Silicon support rather than treating Mac as an afterthought.

ROG Xbox Ally support shows Pearl Abyss is thinking beyond traditional platforms

The handheld side is also worth paying attention to. Pearl Abyss shared dedicated targets for ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, showing that it is already thinking about portable performance in a serious way.

For the standard ROG Xbox Ally, the chart lists 720p with FSR 3 Frame Generation at 40 FPS. For the more powerful ROG Xbox Ally X, performance ranges from upscaled 1080p from 720p at 60 FPS in its Performance profile to upscaled 1080p at 40 FPS in Balanced and 1080p at 30 FPS in Quality. Storage is again listed at 150 GB, and Pearl Abyss notes these tests were measured with power connected and Turbo Mode enabled.

That does not guarantee flawless handheld play, but it does show the game is being tuned with portable hardware in mind.

The bigger takeaway here is that Crimson Desert is demanding, but not absurdly so. The PC minimum requirement is not especially brutal by 2026 standards, and the recommended hardware is still well within reach for a lot of players who upgraded in the RTX 20 or RTX 30 era. At the same time, the game clearly scales upward for people chasing 4K 60 FPS, better ray tracing, and sharper image quality.

The storage requirement is arguably the real warning sign. 150 GB is massive, especially for players juggling multiple live service games or limited SSD space on PC and console. Outside of that, the specs paint a picture of a technically ambitious game that still wants to reach a fairly broad audience.

Pearl Abyss finally giving players the full Crimson Desert PC, console, and Mac specs is a useful step forward, especially for a game that has been building hype for so long. The charts suggest a release that is ambitious without being completely out of reach, and they also hint at a surprisingly flexible optimization strategy across PC, consoles, Mac, and handheld devices. The official notice frames all of these numbers as internal testing targets, so the real test will come when players get their hands on the final build. Still, for now, fans at least know where they stand and whether their setup is ready for the trip into Crimson Desert.
