Riot has revealed that Janna, Riven, Trundle, and Vel’Koz are receiving massive buffs in patch 13.23.

Season 13 has been one of the most extensive seasons in terms of meta. We have seen all classes of champions who were, at one point or another, overpowered in this season. We have seen tanks, mages, assassins, ADC, and even enchanters becoming meta one way or another.

With that being said, Season 13 is just nearing its end as we approach the end of the year. And one of the last patches we will see in this season is Patch 13.23. Additionally, after this update, we will get the preseason 14 patch.

The last Patch, 13.22, was a very massive one, as we saw almost all the mages get buffed in one way or another.

As patch 13.23 is right around the corner, the Lead Gameplay Designer of League of Legends, Riot Phroxzon, unveiled all the champions who would receive adjustments in the update. He revealed that Janna, Riven, Trundle, and Vel’Koz will receive buffs in the upcoming patch.

Patch 13.23 Buffs

Janna Buffs

  • Passive damage from MS: 20/25/30/35% >>> 30%
  • W Cooldown: 9-7 >>> 8-6
  • R Cooldown: 150-120 >>> 130-100

As stated before, in the last update, Riot buffed all the mages in the game. These buffs include either the projectile speed or attack speed. While most of the mages are doing well as expected, Janna, on the other hand, is underwhelming.

Regarding stats, Janna’s win rate is currently 50.02%, with a 4% pick rate. These are not bad stats by any means, but she could use some slight buffs.

Riven Buffs

  • Q damage: 15-95+ 45-65% AD >>> 15-95 + 50-70% AD
  • R Bonus AD: 20% >>> 25%

Yesterday, Riot Phroxzon discussed Riven’s purpose, current state, playstyle, and more. Moreover, he did say that Riven is considerably weaker in the meta. While the upcoming item changes will give her some boost, Riot will be giving her some much-needed buffs earlier to make her viable in the current meta.

Trundle Buffs

  • AD growth: 3 >>> 4
  • Q mana: 30 >>> 20

Recently, Trundle has been one of the weakest jungler in the game. He has one of the lowest win rates, 47.52%, and an abysmal 0.7% pick rate. So that’s why Riot will be giving Trundle some massive buffs. Moreover, they will try to turn him into a tank buster, so Trundle is a good option if the enemy has way too many tanks. Additionally, Riot will also give him some buffs that will make him a good top-laner. So we might see some more flex Trundle in the next patch.

Vel’Koz Buffs

  • P damage: 33 – 169 + 50% AP >>> 35 – 180 + 60% AP

Vel’Koz is the last champion who is receiving buffs in this patch. While he is still a good option, he is still weaker compared to other mages in the game. Furthermore, he is getting a new bee skin, Bee’Koz, in the same patch. So Riot is giving him some buffs so players can still enjoy the champion alongside the new skin.

Patch 13.23 Release Date

All the buffs mentioned earlier will be released in patch 13.23, scheduled for Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
