In between dungeon crawling and other quests in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you’ll have to pass your time doing various activities around town. These aren’t pointless activities, however.

Reading books in the Gauntlet Runner is one of the most rewarding activities you can do in Metaphor: ReFantazio (much like real life!). Each time you read a book, you’ll rewarded with Royal Virtue Points after answering Gallica’s questions.
Royal Virtues are important to level up, as they unlock various quests and dialogue options.
Moreover, most books are automatically unlocked in the Gauntlet Runner’s Bookshelf. Thus, you won’t have to go out of your way to find them.

How to Find Books
In total, there are 7 books you can find in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Each book will be automatically added to the Gauntlet Runner’s Bookshelf as you progress except one.
The Magical Future can be found between 7/23 and 8/13. After 8/13 passes you will not be able to unlock it.

To get The Magical Future, talk to Julian, a priest. You can find him in Port Brilehaven.
