Everything you need to know about the Smoke Bomb in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the 13th mainline entry in Ubisoft’s long-running action-adventure series of Assassin’s Creed. The game promises a return to the type of gameplay that players fell in love with in the earlier entries of the series.
Smoke bombs are just one of the tools making a return to the series. An essential part of the assassin’s toolkit, the smoke bomb allows you to dispatch a cloud of smoke, as the name implies, and allows you to disappear from the enemy’s line of sight.

Also, you can one-shot enemies affected by the smoke by assassinating them. This is especially useful for escaping combat and re-engaging when you bite more than you can chew.
Furthermore, it will also allow you to dispatch enemies quickly by allowing you to assassinate them using your hidden blade if you cannot find a blind spot. Hence, it is one of the best tools you’ll have and one you’re likely to use a lot. In the hands of a skilled player, it can easily be overpowered.
You can also upgrade the smoke bomb to make it even better functionality. These include allowing you to carry more bombs at a time, increasing the smoke’s duration, and much more.
This guide is all about Smoke Bombs, how to unlock and use it, and the best upgrades.
How to Unlock Smoke Bomb in AC Mirage
To unlock the smoke bomb, you’ll need to progress through the main story until you reach “First Order.” This is the mission where you complete your first major assassination, the slaver named Mas’ood Al-Ya’qoob, aka Al-Ghul.
After this, you’ll be called back to the Hidden Ones bureau in Harbiyah where you will meet Ibn Musa. You can talk to Ibn Musa for any tool-related work.
During your first interaction, you’ll be given the choice to unlock your third tool to join the throwing knives and torch you were given earlier during the game. The choices include Trap, Blowdart, Noisemaker, and of course, the Smoke Bomb.
As the Smoke Bomb is easily the most versatile out of these, I recommend you unlock it first. You can also unlock it later if you choose another upgrade, but you’ll need to have enough skill points to increase the amount of tools you can carry.
How to Use Smoke Bomb in AC Mirage
The Smoke Bomb has the following stats:
- Ammo: 4
- Range: 10 m
- Area of Effect: 4 m
There are numerous ways to use the Smoke Bomb. It is extremely versatile, covering almost every combat situation in the game.
You can throw it at enemies, making them lose their line of sight. This is especially helpful if you want to escape combat quickly. Maybe you got detected, and there are more enemies than you might have expected. Whatever it may be, the smoke bomb will let you get your upper hand on stealth back.
You can also one-shot any enemy affected by the smoke bomb by assassinating them. Therefore, you’ll be able to dispatch groups of enemies substantially quicker than just engaging them in direct combat. Although, cheesing the game in this manner might have you looked down upon.
All Smoke Bomb Upgrades in AC Mirage
There are a lot of upgrades you can get for your smoke bomb. They are extremely varied, too, ranging from simple things such as increasing your carrying capacity to turning the smoke poisonous.
