An anonymous sources claimed that Tencent has reportedly delayed the upcoming Assassin’s Creed mobile game to next year.

According to a Reuters report, Tencent reportedly delayed Assassin’s Creed Jade until 2025. An anonymous source informed Reuters that Tencent had redeployed hundreds of employees from the team developing Assssin’s Creed Jade. The game was being co-developed by Level Infinite, and the title was hit with a delay after the parent company Tencent shifted its mobile strategy.

Tencent now wants to focus on more smaller and easy-to-play games rather than work on large franchise titles from other companies. Furthermore, the tech giant is working on the recently launched mobile party game ‘DreamStar’ to rival NetEase’s hit mobile title Eggy Party.

Tencent is the world’s largest video game vendor and one of the biggest developers of mobile games based in Shenzhen, China. However, the company has changed its mobile strategy and is focusing on its own projects. Tencent is reportedly working on an Elden Ring mobile game, but there is no exact date when the game will be released. The Chinese tech giant was also working on a Nier mobile game, but it was canceled after the company could not find a way to monetize it.

Assassin’s Creed Jade is an action-adventure game set in ancient China that has been under development for a few years. Both Ubisoft and Tencent have not commented on anything in Reuters’ report as of right now.
