Riot has revealed that Summoner’s Rift is getting a makeover in League of Legends during Arcane Season 2.
One of the iconic aspects of League of Legends has been its map. It’s called the Summoner’s Rift, and it has been part of the game since 2009. Besides visual improvements, it has never received a full-on overhaul. The most the map has ever changed was earlier this year when they slightly changed the layout to make the game more balanced.
In the earlier years of League of Legends, Riot always used to give a new look to the map during some major events. The most prominent change is during Christmas when they change the map to the winter variant. However, in recent years they have stopped doing that.
There are still times that Riot does slight decorations around Summoner’s Rift. Most prominently around Worlds, with the Worlds flag all around the map.
Additionally, there was another time when Riot changed the visuals of Summoner’s Rift not too long ago. And that time was during the release of Arcane. To promote the series Riot added several things to the game. One of them was the Arcane-themed Summoner’s Rift map. Moreover, this map returns to League of Legends for Arcane Season 2 alongside a new map for ARAM.

League of Legends: Arcane-Themed Summoner’s Rift
To rewind back a bit, in 2021, when Arcane was initially released Riot added a Hextech-themed makeover to Summoner’s Rift. The makeover wasn’t anything major all things considered. But it still offered some unique visual differences compared to the normal map.

Firstly, everything is Hextech themed as mentioned previously. That includes the Nexus, Turrets, Inhibitors, and Minions.

Release Date
There is currently no exact release date for this map. But it is highly likely they will be released around either patch 14.23 or patch 14.24, which are scheduled to be released on November 20, 2024, and December 11, 2024, respectively.
