ARC Raiders Live Update 1.33.0 is here, and Embark Studios is giving players a new reason to head back to Topside. The latest update introduces the Forgotten Relics event, a new Project called Converging Paths, fresh rewards, a new DLC outfit bundle, and several important gameplay changes that should affect how Raiders approach certain map conditions.

The update centers around the arrival of the Nomadic Envoys in Speranza, who bring new information from across the Rust Belt. However, before they fully trust the Raiders, players will need to help them recover supplies, bring back relics, and secure safe passage through dangerous routes.

ARC Raiders Forgotten Relics Event Is Now Live

The biggest addition in ARC Raiders Update 1.33.0 is the Forgotten Relics event. This limited-time event gives players a new progression path built around earning Merits, which are automatically converted from XP earned while playing on any map.

Forgotten relics can be found across the world and inside containers such as lockers, drawers, and crates. These relics come with different Merit values based on rarity, but there is one important catch. Players must successfully extract with the relic in hand to claim those Merits.

Finding a valuable relic is only half the job. Surviving long enough to get out with it is where the tension kicks in.

How the Forgotten Relics Event Works

The Forgotten Relics event works through a merit-based reward system. As players earn XP and recover relics, they build up Merits that unlock event rewards. Since XP from regular gameplay contributes to progress, players are not forced into one strict activity. However, hunting relics appears to be the faster and more rewarding path for anyone trying to complete the event efficiently.

Relics can appear inside various containers, so players will want to spend more time looting carefully instead of rushing only high-value combat zones. Since extraction is required to claim relic Merits, the event should make each raid feel more meaningful, especially when players are carrying rare finds.

ARC Raiders Saltwalker Outfit Reward Explained

One of the main rewards in the Forgotten Relics event is the Saltwalker Outfit. Players can earn the outfit by progressing through the event, along with its toggles and additional rewards.

The Saltwalker Outfit also ties into the broader theme of the event, giving players a reward that feels connected to the Nomadic tribes and the harsh Rust Belt setting.

New Converging Paths Project Arrives in ARC Raiders

Alongside the Forgotten Relics event, Update 1.33.0 adds a new Project called Converging Paths. This Project runs from June 16 through July 27 and asks Raiders to help secure safe passage for the nomads, gather vital supplies, and recover forgotten relics from Topside.

Progressing through the Project advances a Display Case that shows off the relics discovered along the way. Players who complete the Project can earn the red and black color variant of the Saltwalker Outfit, a Sextant backpack charm, and Raider Tokens.

The update also confirms that Raider Tokens earned through this Project bring the total earnable this season to 300, making Converging Paths worth finishing for players who want both cosmetics and currency.

Night Raid and Close Scrutiny Lose Free Loadouts

One of the more important gameplay changes in Update 1.33.0 is the removal of free loadouts from Night Raid and Close Scrutiny. Embark says this is a time-limited test that will run for three weeks.

These scenarios offer better loot, so the developers want players to commit to a higher level of risk before entering. Free loadouts made it easier to jump into these conditions without much downside, but this change raises the barrier of entry and makes preparation more important.

Depending on player feedback, Embark may apply this limitation to more map conditions in the future.

The Reaver Set Bundle Joins the Store

Update 1.33.0 also adds a new DLC outfit bundle called The Reaver Set. While the Forgotten Relics event gives players a gameplay-based cosmetic path through the Saltwalker Outfit, the Reaver Set adds another premium option for players who want a new look.

ARC Raiders has continued to mix earnable event rewards with paid cosmetic bundles, and this update follows that same live service structure.

Major Bug Fixes and Quality of Life Changes

Live Update 1.33.0 also includes several bug fixes and quality of life improvements. Embark fixed the unexpected aiming down sights behavior that affected accuracy with some weapons, which should make gunplay feel more consistent.

The update also fixes an issue where players could sometimes fall through the map after stepping on Fireballs and Pop parts. Barricade Kits have been adjusted as well, so knocked-out players no longer stop Barricades from expanding after deployment.

There are also useful UI and audio improvements. Ermalโ€™s offers now properly show stack sizes, extraction announcements should play correctly, and Raider Cache audio cues have been improved to make them easier to find. Inventory shortcuts have also been added for actions such as selling, recycling, repairing, salvaging, and dropping items.

ARC and Map Condition Changes

The Rocketeer now drops Launcher Ammo instead of Heavy Ammo, which should make its rewards feel more appropriate. Embark also fixed issues with Firefly drops and improved how Queen and Matriarch enemies interact with varied terrain and moving surfaces.

In terms of map conditions, in-game countdowns will now only appear 60 minutes before the condition goes live. Embark says it is also investigating improvements to map condition scheduling, including better coverage across different time zones.

Anti Cheat Updates and Loot Compensation

Embark is also continuing its work on anti-cheat systems. Update 1.33.0 expands Denuvo Anti-Cheat to more players and includes ongoing efforts to address item duplication.

The update also adds new inbox messages tied to anti-cheat actions. Players can now receive an Action Notice when someone they reported gets banned. There is also a Loot Compensation message, which returns lost loot if Embark identifies that a cheater knocked the player out.

Known Issues in Update 1.33.0

Embark also listed several known issues that are still being investigated. Some PC players may experience lower FPS than usual, while some Xbox players, especially on Series S, may run into crashes. The team is also looking into unwanted Quick Wheel behavior and several animation, gadget, and item-related issues.

There are also a few issues tied directly to the new event, including a Saltwalker outfit preview bug and Merit icons appearing incorrectly on items brought into a raid.

ARC Raiders Update 1.33.0 is a decently sized patch. Forgotten Relics gives players a new event to grind, Converging Paths adds a longer community-style objective, and the Saltwalker Outfit gives players a strong cosmetic reward to chase.
