Respawn has finally listened to its player base and decided to bring back the OG Apex Legends maps.
The Apex Legends Legacy Genesis Collection Event was announced just a few minutes ago. Respawn also released a detailed patch note about the upcoming event, map changes, and some quality-of-life changes.
The Genesis Collection Event starts on June 29, 2021, and will end on July 13, 2021. This collection event will allow players to earn the Revenant Heirloom by collecting all the event rewards. But we are not here to talk about that. Instead, our main focus today will be the return of the original Kings Canyon and World’s Edge.
Original Kings Canyon and World’s Edge Returns:
During the Genesis Collection Event, the OG maps will be making a comeback. These two maps will take over the normal Trios and Duos queues in 1-hour rotations.
The current Kings Canyon varies significantly from when Apex Legends was initially released. So, the developers thought it was a good idea to bring back the original unaltered map to hit the players with a bit of nostalgia.

World’s Edge will also go back to the original state it came out in when it was first released.

Skull Town Added to Arenas
Apparently, many Apex Legends players were urging Respawn to add Skull Town as an arena map. They finally listened and have done precisely that. The tightly knit buildings of Skull Town will be hectic, chaotic, and fun as players devise the best strategies for winning Arena matches in this original hotspot.
“Skull Town will be added to the Arenas rotation in one-hour increments during the Genesis Collection Event,” meaning each day, we will have more and more time to enjoy Skull Town in Arenas as the event reaches its end.
