If you thought Caustic was scary before the last big update that practically nerfed his tactical ability to the ground then you have not seen anything yet.
One Apex Legends fan thought it would be a great idea to create a different concept for how Caustic’s Nox gas trap works. Instead of being stationary, this fanmade concept added legs to these barrel traps similar to spiders.

Meaning these gas traps would hunt you down in the middle of combat. Just imagine six of these barrels coming at you together while Caustic is right behind them to give you the finishing blow.

Caustic has definitely seen ups and downs in Apex Legends’ meta ever since his release back in 2019. Before the last nerf, Caustic was so annoying to deal with that many pros and casual players complained to Respawn to remove him from the game altogether.
Following many complaints from the community, Respawn finally nerfed his gas damage by quite a large margin. Now, some Caustic mains think this was just too much. In the current patch, you can’t even knock down players that easily anymore by simply using your gas as a Caustic.

Some diehard Caustic players are campaigning for him to return to his former glory. However, the chances of that happening are really low. But if somehow Respawnd decides to implement this rework concept for Caustic barrel then Caustic could actually become scarier than ever before.
