Controller abusers are taking over the game, creating a huge competitive advantage.

This is not the first time that the controller issue has taken over in Apex social media. ImperialHal previously called out controller players as cheaters. The issue hasn’t gotten any better. Apex controller config abusers are still rampant and are reportedly ruining the game for a lot of high-skill lobbies.

Respawn has yet to take any action regarding this. This indicates that steam configs are still technically ‘legal’ even if the advantage is extreme now. With new configs popping up, it seems like not using a controller will put you out of contention now.

Apex Controller Config Problems Have Evolved

Previously, the issue was mostly just the aim-assist. Players using a controller had a mechanic that allowed them to track opponents easily. This increased with steam configs that mimicked difficult maneuvers that MnK players had practiced. Now, the configs have expanded to even do near-instant loot swaps, giving players a huge competitive edge.

TSM Reps retweeted a post on Twitter that showcased the ridiculous state of the game. The controller configs are close to becoming the most advantageous way to play at the top. Players are complaining that the skill floor is getting raised unfairly. This is because players who perfected skills like tap-strafing are being surpassed by those with just a config.

Using a Steam config, controller players can bind multiple commands and simulate any movement technique in Apex. Combining movement techniques with aim-assist, these players seem unstoppable in ranked and casual matches.
