League of Legends is apparently getting Drama series based on its Esports scene.
League of Legends is probably one of the most successful games in the world. Released in 2009, the game has garnered millions of players worldwide. Due to its massive popularity, the game also spawned many spinoff games, Novels, Comics, and the newest of the bunch, the hit animated series Arcane. But what we never got was a Live-Action Adaptation.
However, it has been recently confirmed that there is a drama in the works based on the League of Legends Esports scene. This will be the first Live-Action Adaptation based on the IP and will be directed by the legendary Chinese director Zhang Yimou.
Zhang Yimou is a famous Chinese film director, producer, writer, actor and former cinematographer. He is known for his works in movies such as Raise the Red Lantern, House of Flying Daggers, The Great Wall, and countless others.
There have been rumors floating around that a League of Legends-based drama has been in the works for the past year. The rumors also eluded to the fact that Zhang Yimou was helming the director seat. Many were skeptical about it since there was no official confirmation, but recently Zhang Yimou himself confirmed that he is working on the drama.

A League of Legends Drama
The League of Legends drama will be based on the Esports scene, specifically the Chinese side of the LoL esports side. Since the esports scene is massive in China, it is not surprising to see a drama based on it.
The drama will be released sometime in 2023, when exactly is unknown. As for the cast, the actors Yi Yangqianxi, AKA Jackson Yee and Luo Yizhou are confirmed to be in the show.
